Was referred to Dr Skemp by my original doctor who was retiring. What a poor referral that turned out to be. For whatever reason that day he had no interest in working with me and also completely denigrated the finding and previous treatments performed by my original doctor at his clinic.

Despite the other glowing reviews for him on this site, I had no such experience and would go out of my way to NOT refer anybody to him.

I have been Dr. Skemp's patient since 1991. Words can't express how grateful I am to him and everyone in his practice for their care over the years. He is patient, kind, attentive and extremely knowledgeable about treatments for my specific condition. Dr. Skemp is an old-school kind of healer and I wouldn't enjoy the health I have to day without his care.

He was very upfront with me that he wasn't going to be the right doctor for me, but he still cared enough to run lab work to make sure my liver could tolerate the medications I was on. I'm giving him a very positive review despite the fact that I had to go elsewhere. Others in the Twin Cities were not nearly as good. I had to mark down for knowledge though that he wasn't familiar with my condition (it's rare but not that unheard of) despite the local TV station KSTP having a news story about it.

What a wonderful, personable man; however, he seems to prefer to write prescriptions rather than offer alternatives.

I was a patient of Dr. Skemp's from 1999 - 2006, when I moved to California. I wish I could have taken him with me...he is the best! Very caring and focused on the patient. He never gave up on me, and would even call the home if he knew that things were going bad.

Amazing doctor! I've spent a ton of money trying to find a good rheumatologist and I am finally happy. I feel comfortable putting my health in the hands of Dr. Skemp and I know that he has the best of intentions for his patients. This is not a money hungry doctor; this is a doctor who cares about his patients and wants to help them. He will listen to and respect all of your questions and concerns. Wonderful office and they're usually not booking too far out. Highly recommend!!!

I've been seeing Dr. Skemp for several years now. He is kind, considerate and thorough. I feel very fortunate that my initial referral to a rheumatologist was to him. I have never had an occasion to second guess him judgement.

Dr. Skemp is very knowledgeable and I feel very comfortable when I go to see him. He listens to all of my concerns and changes my treatment accordingly. When I first went to Dr. Skemp I couldn't even put my shoes on. Now I am pain free and can exercise whenever I want to.
