Just had my first experience with her in the ER at the Regional. I was impressed with her bedside manner and relieved to discover how gentle she was (especially considering I had to see her for gynecological reasons). Very patient and kind and I felt she really listened to what I had to say and passed no judgment. Coming from a medical family and having worked in a hospital myself, I can confidently say she is very knowledgeabLe and explains things clearly and concisely. She explained all the steps she was going to be taking before she did, very calmly, and was very respectful through the whole pelvic exam. It is a credit to her how relatively relaxed I was considering such exams are not physically easy for me but she made it as painless as possible. She ended up giving me a tentative diagnosis of PCOS (which I had expected based on my own research) and clearly explained the test results which had led her to that conclusion, then gave me a referral to an ob/gyn for further follow up and gave me some helpful suggestions and information to mull over in the meantime to help manage my symptoms until my appointment. The only points I would deduct would be for promptness as after the tests and exam were completed, we were left in our ER room for about an hour without any follow up or expectation of when to hear from anyone or if we were allowed to go home, but I think that was more to do with the fact that the ER was relatively busy that day and a holiday (potentially short staffed?) than anything to do with her personally. I never felt rushed at all and they made me feel like my reason for being there was just as important as anyone else's, which was kind. As my reason for visiting wasn't particularly acute, I wasn't overly concerned or offended at the wait. They do have to triage according to greatest need, after all, so I was expecting that. When I went out to ask the nurse who had done my blood draws (who was phenomenal as well, by the way. Wish I knew her name) to ask if we should stay or leave, she was able to have Anne Marie see us within about 10 minutes. Overall I was very impressed with both her and the ER nurse I saw that Easter Sunday (2018) and though unlikely, if either one of them are ever in a position to accept patients as a family physician, I'm so there!
