Dr. Slancar promised my mom that the chemo she is going to receive will not cause any side effects and will not greatly impact her daily activities. However, after the second round of chemo, my mom is unable to move. How can someone promise that a potentially poisonous substance will have no side effects? It seems like the doctor's main concern is probably earning a commission for another chemo treatment that he prescribed.

he treated my wife and misdiagnosed her by giving her F5U which gave her blisters in the mouth and 10 days in hospital as shew could not eat. Then he gives it to her again, reduced dose, and she get blisters back within 24 hours, then he finally gets the message and removes the poison.

First meeting. Michael was very reassuring and made me feel at ease. He seemed very knowledgable and the consultation did not feel hurried. He has made some very sensible observations and recomendations for me. I am looking forward to my future association with him.

If I ever have to go through cancer again, I will be wanting Michael to look after me. I can not recommend him highly enough. I had 16 months of treatment and Michael was there every step of the way and then 3 monthly, 6 monthly and finally annual visits for the next 12 years. Michael and all his staff were amazing.

Staff are excellent but I cannot understand why I have to wait at least 1 hour past appointment time on each visit to see the Doctor. Treatment in the Day Hospital is always on time and excellent but the walk through by Dr Slancar seems cursory.

First meeting - referral from my Urologist who has been looking after me for 10 years. I was not happy with my previous oncologist as I felt like I was just a number and wanted more than that someone who is looking after my life. Trust is everything. I was late for my appointment and he was late for me and so it was - I met with Dr Michael Slancar - after a warm hello and friendly hand shake - it was down to business - he had already checked all my scans and my personal history and after an engaging collaborative discussion he have me his professional opinion...go early go now!. I believed him and I trusted him and on a first meeting that is rare. You are in good hands with Dr Michael Slancar. Thoroughly recommend him.

My wife was quiet I’ll after Chemo and had to come in for her appointment! She struggled to get dressed, struggled to get in the car and struggled to sit waiting over an hour past her appointment time! Sick people should not have to wait to see their Oncologist over hour after their appointment time! Very disappointed!

Dr Slancar is an amazing oncologist. He has treated my husband for near on 16 years. I can honestly say if we didn't have Dr Slancar, my hubby would not have survived this long. Dr Slancar has privided care and treatments that others would not. I find him and his secretary Tracey to be extremely caring and passionate about their patients. The team at Icon Southport are amazing. If you get a cancer diagnosis, you need to be treated here.

Cannot recommend Dr Slancar enough. He has been treating my husband for over four years and is always pleasant, helpful and caring. I am sure my husband would not be here today if not for Dr Slancar and staff
