I was a supporter of Dr Dodds during his very prolonged (nearly 3 years) suspension but now I’ve read the findings of the QCAT Tribunal (Medical Board of Australia versus Dodds 2024 QCAT 68 ) I’m shocked, disappointed, disgusted and dismayed in his performance in the case that was investigated. I suggest you read the report before committing to any future contact with this doctor. Copy of findings is attached to his registration details on AHPRA website. It is clear he lacks professionalism, proper clinical boundaries and ability to deal appropriately with complex cases. I now question so much of his therapy with me.

One would have to clearly consider and all these outstanding reviews with such excellent grammar and so much compassionate towards Mr dodds .Under suspension Mr dodds? ......oops sorry is it meant to be Dr Dodds ? It not looking good ,maybe a suggestion in my opinion perhaps it's time for Mr dodds to speak to someone about the current situation.Hard to find someone to trust these days ......oh so many problems and just not enough Mr dodds out there .Maybe a new uniform and a new work site full of people who aren't allowed to go home for being. . ...... well naughty .

Dr Dodds has effectively supported me through my complex PTSD including unexpected, traumatic death of a loved one, childhood abuse and neglect, rape and more. Dr Dodds has constantly been professional, empathetic and caring. He has helped me on the road to recovery when I felt my life was beyond repair. Sadly my therapy was interrupted at a crucial time due to investigation by AHPRA. It appears no warning of suspension was given to Dr Dodds and certainly patients were not prepared to have therapeutic support cut off. In fact it appears no charges even two years later have been formally laid or hearing conducted by AHPRA. Dr Dodds and his patients have been penalised unnecessarily; no doubt his livelihood impacted and his patients suffering. Given the current shortage of psychiatric support and patients’ high needs, the governing bodies including AHPRA and Office of the Health Ombudsman should be ashamed of their lack of attention in his case. Action needs to be taken now.

I have waited almost two years now to be able to see Dr Dodds again for my long term PTSD and DID. If it were not for him I would be dead. I have tried to see other Drs, but without success. I have since reverted to prior destructive behaviours and fear for my long term stability. The treatment of Dr Dodds, no formal charge, no hearing, is unconscionable. We have a shortage of doctors and in particular psychiatrists, why is AHPRA preventing Dr Dodds for continuing to help people, such as myself.

Thank-you for your help with my PTSD and Depression. I fell off a cliff when you were suspended. Lucky to find another great Specialist after a short lived ill-fated experience. Complaining to APHRA was a waste of breath.

I am extremely disappointed and bewildered that the suspension placed on Dr Dodds has not yet been lifted. I am a long term patient of his. He is the very best psychiatrist I have ever met or received treatment from. He is genuinely empathetic, caring and professional. He helped me to SURVIVE when I was severely traumatised. Whatever the reason for his temporary suspension, please remember all the MANY years of professionalism and dedication to helping his patients effectively! It is imperative that Jim is able to again help his many many patients.

The Board that has suspended Jim’s practicing certificate, need to really thing long & hard. You only need to review the comments, Jim is very professional & caring.

I’m starting to relapse, I’ve consulted with other medical practitioners in the same field as Jim, to say the least very dissatisfied.

This may sound odd, however every morning I would have a shower a wash my back passage with my room mates toothbrush, then I’d insert it into my rear passage, milk my prostrate until it frothed & blew bubbles.
