I went in with severe hyperthyroid symptoms and TSH at 0.3 and nodules on my thyroid and he said my level were not yet at zero so there was nothing wrong with me. I was having muscle weakness and at times could barely stand up and other hormonal issues. I said what is causing my symptoms then? I said it gets worse around my period so I think its hormonal. He told me to go see my gyno there was nothing wrong with me. He then actually KICKED ME OUT of his office because I kept asking questions. Stay away!!

Although retired military, has zero respect for military or anyone else. Had thyroid nodules and hypothyroid for over ten years and unfortunately endo's are where you are referred for prolia injections when needed due to osteoporosis and osteopenia, especially when you have significant amounts of hardware in shoulders and spine. He informed me that the stability of hardware was NOT his concern and wanted me to undergo unnecessary tests even though the ortho wanted me to have the prolia. Save yourself the time and co-pay and find a physician who has an understanding about how osteoporosis lets hardware become less stable for someone who is still mobile. He's not a positive for his profession or Centennial hospital.

I'm a former patient of Dr. Aprill because of his curt personality. Apparently he's very well respected in the medical field, and we recommended highly, but I didn't click with him at all. He seems to try to scare you into doing what he wants you to do.

Not the more personable individual but I was looking for knowledge and to continue treatment of osteoporosis as directed by my spine specialist who retired. Totally ignored me telling him that I could NOT lie flat for bone scan because of hardware throughout my body from being put back together. Left there knowing the appointment had been wasted travel and time, when he responded that the stability of my hardware was not his concern. Any physician in any speciality NOT knowing, NOT interested and certainly NOT caring in to the total wellness of patients impacted by lack of medication they provide in their speciality, has no business being a physician!

I used to work for Dr. Aprill as a medical transcriptionist, and I loved his dictations. He is absolutely the best endocrinologist that I have ever worked for.

I can tell he was a military doctor. He cannot understand why anyone could question his methods. He correctly diagnosed my condition but treated me like I was a 4 year old when talking to me. I had been misdiagnosed as a type 2 diabetic which is not unusual being 58 so I had been dealing with diet and testing for 2 years but he talked to me like an idiot. He bad mouthed my previous doctor and said he had probably caused heart damage with my medication dosages and when I said I've never had any heart problems he said "you will". Great bedside manner. When I got fed up with carrying an 8x11 notebook everywhere I went and recording my glucose, carb intake and insulin intake 3 times a day, which he said I would have to do the rest of my life, he dropped me as a patient. All of this could have done on a smart phone app but instead he had me faxing it in. I have since moved on to a 21st century Doctor.

I will never recommend Dr. Aprill. He was not pleasant, when I said something he looked at me like I was stupid. Several time he talked but about my previous doctor (who was amazing! if it were up to me I wouldn't have left her) and when I told him I wasn't comfortable with a test he wanted to do, he told me that I needed to find another doctor. I am thrilled that I no longer need to see him! DO NOT USE HIM AS YOUR DOCTOR!

I thought I was the only one feeling horrible after leaving Dr. Aprill's office until I read the post here. He has no bedside manners. He is just a mean old man with a lot of book sense. He could careless about me as a patient and my concerns about my health.

Was told everything I already knew with no future game plan that should have been very easy. Attempting to discuss symptoms to a doctor that clearly showed no remorse or interest in what I had said along with shooting down any attempt I made of humor to alleviate the tension in the room had me leaving the office feeling I was a toddler that had just been scolded and put in the corner for an hour. Dr. Aprill is EXTREMELY intelligent and knowledgable of Endocrinology to the point of where I felt mentally incompetent of having a proper conversation with him. His intelligence, knowledge and the fact that Im determined to correct my health are the ONLY reasons I will continue seeing him as an Endocrinologist and forgive him for his lack of compassion.
