After looking at my lab report I find out I received a total of 3 CT scans. Not 2. I only agreed to 2. I specifically told her I would NOT be returning to her office for a 3rd scan since I didn't feel the 2nd was even necessary since I was getting better from bowel inflammation/ ibs and no tumors or anything were shown on the 1st scan so it was just a follow up. Clean colonoscopy. And now I find out I had 3 WITHOUT MY CONSENT. 2 were done at once on the last one. I suspected something was off when the X-ray tech ran in the room quickly after running the machine on me as it abruptly turned off and stated "that was just a test" and then put my contrast in and reran the machine. Giving me 3 CT scans. I really do wonder if this was not financially motivated either from Mrs. Harper's orders or the different radiologist trying to get more money out of me (which they did) because it was right before Christmas. Also her medical assistant is lacking in person skills and needs to be retrained on how to address a patient's concerns and be more professional in her constant phone calls. I wish I had never let her practice on me. Now I've been exposed to 15 years of background radiation and just below the threshold of what has been proven to cause permanent DNA damage leading to cancer. Heaven forbid I actually need another CT scan. I am only 30 and a mother. She was nice otherwise besides the excessive CT scans and pressuring me into getting more of them for no good reason. My GI doctor wouldn't even order me a CT Scan because of the unnecessary radiation exposure. Just when I was getting over it and now I am extremely upset this THIRD scan was done without my consent and I find it very upsetting no one ever told me how much radiation I was being exposed to in the first place and for no legitimate reason besides money was a THIRD done.
