Apparently he would not see me because my diagnosis was not good enough. I have been having mystery issues with my hair falling out for the last few years and the only thing it could be is hormonal. When my primary tried to get an appointment I was told because of my diagnosis I would not been seen.

Dr. did not suggest a genetic test or any other options other than removing the thyroid immediately and then later wanting to remove enlarged nodules. Second opinion found this approach too aggressive, especially since the genetic test revealed no markers. Nodules went back down to normal size, and now she's (new doc) just waiting and watching what happens. If you want your thyroid removed then this is the doctor for you, if you would like to keep your thyroid, then get a second opinion. Seems really nice but it's like he just wants to remove thyroids without painting the whole picture for the patient.... does this guy get kick backs from someone?

I have been a patient of Dr. Weirum's for 3 1/2 years. I moved to Memphis about a year after I started seeing him; however, I make the 3 hour drive to Nashville every 6 months for office visits. Dr. Weirum is patient, knowledgeble, and compassionate. He will not baby you, but he will be understanding of your individual needs. The wait with some appointments can be longer than others but, I don't know of a doctor's office where this wouldn't be an issue. I highly recommend Dr. Weirum!!!

It has been 12 years since I saw Dr. Weirum. I was his patient for approximately 5 years while living in Hendersonville, TN. He was the most pleasant, knowledgable doctor that I have ever had in the 44 years of having type 1 Diabetes. I wish I still could go to Dr. Weirum, but since moving to Knoxville, the distance would not be easy. I high recommend him to anyone with diabetes.
