Best Dr I've seen in Canberra in years. Wouldn't dream of seeing anyone else now that I've met her. Lucky to be accepted into her books.

I tend to disagree with the last comment. Dr Abeya makes every effort to listen to you as the patient, resolve your issues and get to the bottom of the problem. She is excellent as a diagnostic clinician, so perhaps she's running late because she's taking the time and effort to solve someone else's conundrum. I would be understanding and tolerant as one day it may be you who requires the longer consult. I certainly have been there, when she was exceptional. My father was seeing another GP for > 10 years, had been admitted and seen numerous Dr's in hospitals. After seeing her once, she did a thorough examination, arranged blood tests, then called us back for a longer appointment, explained the results and diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer. The previous Dr had given strong painkillers for bad arthritis. Thanks to Dr Abeya, my father is now on chemotherapy and has a few more years to live. The receptions staff are excellent and allow you to go for a coffee or to the mall and even offer to call you nearer the time. I would not be so judgemental. Dr Abeya does the very best she can, ALWAYS.

Dr Abeya's clinic is routinely running very late. If you do not mind waiting a long time for service then she may be a good doctor but the amount of time that it takes to see her may not make her a feasible option for others.

I have had numerous issues post-pregnancy and Dr Abeya has been kind and is very thorough in investigating the concerns. I have been her patient for four years since miving to Canberra and find her very good, kind and attentive. I highly recommend her.

Dr Abeya is by far the best Dr I have ever come across, and I have been to quite a few with my chronic medical issues. She is excellent with children, gentle, kind, caring and makes them feel completely at ease. She has been our family Dr since the children were born, and they love coming to see her, which says a great deal. An excellent Dr overall, kind, caring, extremely knowledgeable and takes time to listen to all your concerns. I have recommended her to so many family and friends, so lucky to have found her.

I travel all the way from Yass to see Dr Abeya, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Well worth the journey and time I spend to see her, considering I have been misdiagnosed and rushed through with other Dr's closer to home. Dr Abeya is consistent, thorough and never ceases to amaze me with her charm, smile, knowledge and sensitivity. Kind, genuinely caring. I'm so lucky to have found her.

Dr Abeya is by far the best GP I've seen in years, and the most qualified too. She has postgraduate qualifications in Surgery, Paediatrics, Gynaecology in addition to Family Medicine, all from the UK. She is young, charming, hardworking and passionate about what she does. She is so popular and hard to get into. Nevertheless, if its urgent and necessary, she'll always make time for you. She has been superb with my kids and they love going to see her. She has a way of making one feel relaxed, even the dreaded pap smear is almost pleasant when she does it. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Thoroughly recommend her.

I am also shocked at the comments on 25 Feb 2015. In the 4 years Dr Abeya has been my GP I have never known her to be anything but kind, polite and caring. If anything she gives too much to her patients and I am sure would have many days where she didn't have lunch. She is the best GP I have ever had and although one sometimes has to wait, as others have said, it is because she genuinely cares for her clients and will spend that extra bit of time to make sure she has covered all your concerns. She is highly competent and credentialed and I have total confidence in her. She is also excellent at finding the correct cause for puzzling conditions.

I am truly shocked to hear the last person's comments. Dr Abeya is extremely patient, gentle, tolerant and has time for everyone. Perhaps she was running late, but very often its because she's spending too much time listening to her patients and their concerns, rarely for personal reasons. There are several occasions when I arrive at 2 pm, and she sees me without having a lunch break for the day, to avoid me having to wait long. She is very knowledgeable and if she doesn't know, will continue to investigate until she has got to the bottom of the issue. She has been great with me and my family. I have now referred my extended family to her as well. I wont dream of going to anyone else. Well worth the wait to see her, in my opinion.
