Highly recommend Dr. Tavares. Not a pill-pusher. Offers patients and families lots of proactive things they can do for themselves. Made an excellent referral for ongoing therapy that has given us our daughter back - can never thank him enough.

My son saw Dr Tavares today.He listened patiently , asked lots of questions and made us feel completely at ease. He offered A LOT of information both reading material, audio books and counselling suggestions . I was very thankful for his suggestions. He made us a followup appt to make sure we're on track. We had a good experience and felt he was to the point and helped us with our child . I liked that he put the patient on a track of self education and provides lots of resources to that end.

i don't care doctor or not not a human being can diagnose a child with ADHD in 25 minutes without exploring the child a few times to get to know them. There many circumstances that bare a persons behaviour and the root is not usually ever as the symptoms presents. Two of three visits and further discussions they I may side a diagnoses. But not 25 min. Other doctors test, multiple visits, discuss, more tests, then referral, and then diagnose a problem. Psychiatry seems to label rather then individually sort problems Then understand the cause and effect scenarios. Could not of said more he has been practicing for 11 years and he knows best. My world your time practicing does not make you a good doctor but your time present and seek to understand character first with cause and effect makes you a good doctor. The office staff was crappy as well with accuracy and helpfulness. Yep a second opinion is needed for sure, more like a first opinion as this one was a waste of time and has no validity in its value. I highly reckons asking your doctor for someone else if you are referred to him. As a gift I will buy him a label maker! He is good at that but I assume he will continue to misslable. So maybe not, I will save my money because what good is a label maker if you mislabel, or make a label before you know what's going to be in the jar. Doctor is you read this your practice sucks and your staff make you look even worse then what you are. I too have access to TED TALKS. But we came to you for individualized attention. You are a statistic of why your field has less then desirable impressions on society.

I feel Dr. Tavares knows his stuff, but I felt my child was assessed before we even walked in the room. He seemed to have suggestions ready and barely interacted with my child. I felt like they were jut general suggestions everyone receives, and not really tailored to my child. I feel I spent more time looking at his youtube videos and other technology than he actually spent directly interacting. I will give his suggestions a try, but figured there would be more of an assessment.

My son goes to Dr Tavares and is very actually likes going to see him. I would recommend him to anyone looking for one.
