Dr. Grossman is absolutely terrific. Consumate professional. Always always takes time not only to answer my questions but to make me feel better about having diabetes ... if that is possible! He is kind. I do, however, dislike the office set up. The people manning the front desk are for the most part young, harried and disinterested. The telephone system is diabolical. That being said Dr. Grossman more than makes up for any deficiencies. I actually look forward to seeing him

I went to a Vascular Specialist who analyzed me and after asking for some exams, told me I should see an endocrinologist, that my problem was related to my thyroid. My family doctor referred me to Dr. Grossman.

His secretary was really nice, however, she told me "After reviewing your referral and lab work the endocrinologist does not feel like an endocrine consult would be beneficial at this time. His recommendation was to return it to your family doctor."

So... who is he to not trust 2 doctors (Family Doctor and Vascular Specialist) and simply decide not to see me? Is he a doctor or does he flip a coin??
I'm so angry right now simply because he CHOOSE not to see me because of my blood tests instead of having me as a patient and knowing more about my problem.
I'm not a number. Human beings are really complex, much more than blood tests.

My last appointment with Dr. Grossman solidified my decision not to go back. He's not interested in answering any questions, and makes you feel like you're wasting his time with your questions. I feel like I am only his patient so he can bill OHIP. Very unfriendly and seems like he couldn't care less about your issues. He's always on time for any appointment I've had with him and now I know why, because he doesn't take the time with his patients, any doctor worth his salt listens to his patients, that's how you help them and show that their well being matters.

Probably the most uncomfortable and rude experience I've had with a physician, from the moment he first saw me he had a rude look on his face like. When I walk into his office he asks me why I am wearing a sweater like I am doing something wrong, then rudely asks why are you here....I don't know if it was prejudice or if he had an issue with someone who looks like me but he acted like he hated me and we had first met. He already had my file so had no need to ask me in a rude manner "why are you here" or to have a demeanor like that at all. When you have a hormone issue you are already vulnerable and want to fix it, you would think when you go to specialist you would be treated at minimum with courtesy. The clinic and other staff were nice, but this guy was just unprofessional and rude. Wish I had called him out on the spot but I was just caught of guard, like I did something wrong. Weird and unpleasant experience.

Being a diabetic most of my life I have dealt with many different doctors over the years, Dr. Grossman and his team at LMC are by far the best I have ever come across. They are efficient, helpful and go above and beyond with assistance and availability. Dr. Grossman was recommended to me by my sister and I can't praise him and his team enough, I highly recommend him.

He misdiagnosed me as type 1, told me whenever my blood sugars weren't getting to the target mmol to just increase the insulin dosage. He didn't tell me to change my eating habits or anything! After he told me I was type 1, he tried to push me to take this research drug he was a part of and that it would, in his exact words "cure type 1 diabetes." I immediately declined and after that, he became quite standoffish and disinterested. I stopped making appointments with him after that.
I started seeing another doctor a year later to get a second opinion and some help on my diabetes and when they got my file from LMC, it's written down that I'm type 2, not type 1. He told me I was type 1 verbally but, wrote in my file that I was type 2. I called to ask LMC if I could switch endocrinologists and they said they would but, never did. I'm completely done with LMC and Dr. Grossman. His false information proved to be a struggle for me and left me and my family doctor treating me as if I was type 1. Finding out that I'm type 2 has given me the chance to be treated correctly. No thanks to Dr. Grossman that's for sure. I should have asked for my file sooner instead of believing his words. I don't recommend this endocrinologist. If you want to be diagnosed correctly and be treated well, stay away from this doctor. Being misdiagnosed, pushed to be a part of a research drug study and finding out later on when the file comes in the correct diagnosis isn't fun. I'm extremely upset Grossman told me i'm type 1 knowing full well that I'm not, gave me bad advice on insulin and eating habits and treated me rather poorly. Please for your health, seek another doctor.

Either Dr Grossman knows nothing, or he has a strict policy against answering questions. He was rude and dismissive. He refused to answer any questions, telling me that the class he sent me to should have answered any questions that I had. When I said that it didn't, he just said to follow up with him in 6 months. Doctors like this are the reason that so many people end up going untreated. I came here for help, not to be berated and dismissed. If you have to see an endocrinologist, I would suggest anyone but Dr Grossman.
