Dr Ottley operated on my Mum, Anne, twice. Both for hip fracture. In both instances he could not have been more caring, responsive and concerned. Might not seem like a big deal but this is the deal breaker for me. Clinically you can’t fault his care regime and certainly Annie’s outcome. Her first repair was perfect - she was up and moving around almost better than she did prior to her fall and broken hip. Her second operation with Dr Ottley was, sadly, part of the palliative pathway and to give her comfort.

For both surgeries Dr Ottley went out of his way to have Annie transferred to our hospital of choice. One of the surgeries happened very late at night, bu, t he wanted to do it ensure it was achieved in the optimal window to ensure the best outcome. At all times he was incredibly respectful of my Mum’s communication difficulties and ensured she was in a safe space.

Dr Ottley - you are truly one of a kind and I can’t thank you enough, three years down the track from the second surgery, for your absolute dedication to your patients. You’re one of a kind.

I am so thankful for the new hips Dr Ottley gave me. I found him to be highly professional, taking time to explain the surgery and answer my questions. He managed to make identical small incisions and leave me with no limp which compared to many others is a miracle in itself. I belong to a worldwide hip replacement facebook page and compared to the kinds of doctors and surgical methods used in the UK and US I’m glad we have the best right in Australia. The after care provided by himself, the nurse practitioner and office staff has been fantastic.

Stuffed up my a basic hip scope on my left hip, now at 29 years old I need a hip replacement just a few years later.

I was recommended to see Dr Ottley by my GP who had worked with him as a junior doctor and thought he was an excellent surgeon. He spent time with me discussing options and I felt fully informed. He warned me my hip replacement could be sore to begin but in fact it wasn’t, compared to the arthritis pains I was having before. I had no issues - helped by his care and attention through my whole hospital stay. I have nothing but praise for him and would recommend him highly to anyone needing hip or knee surgery.
