This doctor performed two hernias on me a number of years ago. Both were successfully performed. However on returning to him post surgery I asked him “Why am I very itchy in the area where you performed the incision. His reply to me was “Are you suggesting we took advantage of you while you were under anesthetic”. I told him I’m not suggesting anything of the sort. While I thought this was a very odd answer he didn’t answer my question. I was very offended that he would even suggest that is what I asked him. I wouldn’t have him operate on me again for that reason.

I strongly recommend against this "surgeon". He performed my hernia repair surgery when I was 20 years old (I'm now 21). I was given little to no information regarding recovery other than not to lift or strain for 6 weeks. To this day I am in severe pain and am limited to what I can do even around the house. My life is essentially ruined due to his negligence. I don't trust this guy one bit and if I had the money for a lawyer you bet I'd sue him for all he's got.

I found Dr Shirley to be a very kind soft spoken man. He was very comforting before the surgery and made sure I understood what was going to happen. I am healing very well and I would recommend him as a surgeon .

I had a colonscopy with Dr. Shirley he was very kind and comforting before the procedure. I had an appt in his office a week later, he was punctual and very easy to understand.

His HACKER FORGOT To put a drain tupe in after you appendix burst and was removed causing a severe infection that almost killed me and made it so I could never have children. Never allow this man near anyone you love!!!!!

If this man is your doctor don't walk, run for the exit! My father had a basic surgery for a growth in his colon and this was his surgeon. Dr. Shirley didn't wait for test results to come back stating "you have cancer, I've been a dr for a long time and I know cancer when I see it". He went in and butchered my father, it was not cancer. He nicked my fathers ureter and he ended up losing a kidney. He hadn't been sick a day in his life and now has an irreversible Ostomy, four hernias and a fistula. The stress placed on my fathers heart led to a quad bypass, all this in 4 months! Upon waking his nurse said to the dr "aren't you going to tell him the good news that he doesn't have cancer?" Dr. Shirley walked out, never spoke to my father again. We are still very lucky my father is alive but his quality of life is gone and his life expectancy is very short. If I could rate this loser lower than one I would. Try Dr Cowie
