I need to have my ovaries removed. There has been an hemorrhagic cyst while concerning characteristics on my left ovary through two scans (Feb. 2021 & May 2021). I attempted to seek out a local gyno-oncologist (Lancaster, PA) because the frequent commutes to Philly (Fox Chase Cancer Center) have been a hardship. I had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Jacqueline Evans for July 6th. I then received a phone call from Dr. Evans, personally, and she told me that she did not think that she was the "right oncologist" for me because she does not do "menopause care". It was bizarre to me that an oncologist, who knows I was diagnosed with a Uterine Sarcoma in November 2019, would decline to remove my ovaries because of the onset of menopause that will follow. I told her, "Acupuncture can ease my menopause. My concern is my cancer." She said that she had seen in my records that there was a "complication" with my Myomectomy performed at LGH Penn Medicine (whom Dr. Evans is also affiliated with). She added, "but Dr. Medlin" (who wasn't even the doctor who performed my Myomectomy, but is an LGH Oncologist) "did everything appropriately." I told her that I had never mentioned my myomectomy complications, nor anything about Dr. Medlin's care. Neither topic had a thing to do with the fact that I need my ovaries out and the cyst biopsied. She repeated that she just didn't feel she was the "right oncologist" for me. I began to cry. She said, "I'm sorry I can't help you", and disconnected the call.

Dr. Evans saved my life 14 years ago. Ovarian cancer spreads very rapidly and it's a race against the clock. Dr. Evans and her team was able to schedule me for surgery very quickly. Dr. Evans is an amazing healer and she and her team are so kind. Chemotherapy is very unpleasant and she and her team provided an environment that made me and my family feel comfortable and prepared.

Very knowledgeable and compassionate. She is a phenomenal surgeon with a great reputation. After meeting with her, I vouch it is well deserved. Getting chemo in the office was so much better than having to go to the cancer center. It was so personal. It's the same doctor and nurse with each treatment, so they know me very well. Practices like this are quickly becoming a thing of the past, as hospitals become big corporations. I am not a number and don't want to feel anonymous. Hats off to the mom and pop docs that still exist and care for us Ole ladies. Thank you dr evans

She is knowledgeable, caring, and a wonderful surgeon. She spent over 75 minutes in consultation with us. I'd recommend her to anyone with a gyn cancer. She gives chemotherapy right in her office

Unhappy with this doctor. I have been told that she didn't biopsy a critical area during surgery leaving doubt as to the progression of my disease. Her staff are a little unprofessional at times. She seemed annoyed when I asked questions after hours yet she didn't inform me of things which forced me to call. She did try to be helpful at times and her staff at times were also helpful but during a tough time I remember when they weren't so nice. I felt very uninformed about lots of important issues.

She is excellent. Patience, caring, informative. Had her for Ovarian Surgery & still return for checkups for 4 yrs. so far. Her staff are also kind, fun, etc. It is a pleasure, rather than an ordeal, which it could be with cancer checkups. She is pretty too, ha,ha!!!
