Unbelievable surgeon. My bi lateral knee replacement was nothing short of exceptional. I’m back working in a profession where you aren’t supposed to be able to do it with replaced knees. For that I am grateful. My only issue is with some of his staff, especially his nurse, who is an incredibly condescending woman...

I went in with 6+ years of pain Dr. Masonis performed a double hip replacement and from the moment I woke up I knew things were better. I walk 15k or more steps a day.

Dr. Masonis is great and absolutely deserves all the other reviews on here . Unfortunately for me, I'll be going back to get the other side done eventually. Wouldn't even think of going somewhere else. He is exceptional.

Dr. Masonis and his team provide exceptional care with outstanding results. I recently underwent a unicompartmental knee replacement. Dr. Masonis left all options on the table and selected the appropriate treatment based on the level of damage discovered during surgery. This approach resulted in a much less invasive "partial" knee replacement. Recovery has been less painful and shorter than a previous arthroscopic procedure. I can not say enough about the care I recieved from Dr. Masonis, his Physician Assisistant Andrew Patterson. I was in a terrible pain no medication, up to morphine could not help. Yes I had to wait for my surgery, however it was well worth it. I had a total hip replacement anterior approach. My hip was bone on bone with arthritis. I had the surgey in March, was up out of the bed a few hours later, with no hip pain. I now say what hip surgery. The staff at Dr. Masonis's office is excellent and professional. My surgery was at Mercy hospital and can not say enough about the care I received there. I would rate Dr. Masonis 1000

Recommend Dr. John Masonis very highly - he is a highly trained professional who has a great attitude and sense of humor. He is very talented but still very approachable. No snob here - just a great physician. There is none better than this doctor.

Dr. Masonis performed my bilateral hip replacement hip replacement, and I can only repeat the comments here. I had little hip pain. I was walking in two days. The care at Mercy Hospital including physical therapy was wonderful. Andrew Patterson, Dr. Masonis' physician's assistant, spent a lot of time at the initial visit assessing my condition and provided me with much information about my condition I had not previously received despite having seen multiple orthopedists in the past. The anterior approach used by Dr. Masonis for hip replacement, if medically appropriate for you, is certainly the way to go. I had a faster recovery, less pain, and less scarring than any other person I've known who has had hip replacement by other methods.

I want to highly recommend Dr. Masonis. I had a total hip replacement and was up and walking with little pain in just a few days. It has been two weeks and no pain at all. He has an excellent technique and you will not find a better doctor in Charlotte to do your surgery. I understand he has a waiting list/time but if you can wait...it is worth it. And the nurses at the hospital were also great!

Dr. John Masonis is truly the best of the best. I suffered five years of bone rubbing bone in my left hip. During this period I tried injections of supartz,cortisone and chiropractic care. Did consultations and researched five orthopedic surgeons, including Dr. Masonis. Upon leaving Dr. Masonis's office, I knew this would be my surgeon. Everyone on his staff,including the P.A. Andrew Patterson put my fears and doubts about total hip replacement behind me. Dr. Masonis did the arterial incision and I was walking the following day. Two years have passed and no problems whatsoever. This past November, the right hip was replaced and eight months later all is well. All I can say about Dr. Masonis is, the proof is in the pudding. If you or a loved one is in need of a top orthopedic surgeon, he is definitely your guy.

I LOVE Dr. Mason. I always new he was a great doctor, but didn't realize how great until a recent move across the country. I have been trying to find someone half as good as Dr. Mason and cannot. He performed 2 hip surgeries for me with fantastic results. Before seeing him I dealt with multiple hip fractures and was misdiagnosed many times because I am so young. Several doctors wanted to do a full hip replacement, but I just wasn't comfortable with that since I wasn't even 30. He was highly recommended so I thought I would try and he immediately diagnosed my problem! He took so much time to explain to me what the next steps were, prognosis and answered my millions of questions. He even comforted me when I was crying! There was NO replacement required, just some reconstruction. I cannot say enough positive things about him. My hip has never felt better!!
