I have been under the management of Dr Cronin for several years with serious depression and when I was at my worse he was very compassionate and understanding. While he may seem indifferent at times he is definitely a caring and knowledgeable man and a sound Doctor, I would recommend him.

No care or thought for any of his patients. Never smiles, unfriendly. No form of CBT, ERP, ACT or any therapy - all he's interested in are just his drugs and administering huge amounts of them without any thought of subsequent side effects. AVOID

This is a very experienced psychiatrist with whom all patients can feel confident in his knowledge and professional manner. He has a particular interest in PTSD and if you have third-party insurance or private insurance, he can admit you to Victoria Private Psychiatric clinic which is just behind his offices. This can be very useful if you are very distressed and/or need a careful change of your medications when they don't seem to be working. Dr Cronin attends the clinic at least once daily to supervise your treatment.

Prescribed me 300mg of Zoloft/Setraline which is a crazy dose. My GP was uncomfortable with me taking more than 150mg, so double that is unthinkable. My GP is familiar with my conditions and bodily symptoms, hence the 150mg recommendation. Dr Cronin, however, refuses to listen to me and my physical symptoms, insisting that 300mg is alright for a small, physically unwell person like me.

Too heavy handed when it came to medication and a lack of empathy towards patient's needs and other physical illnesses. Not recommended.

Very passive personality. Man of few words. Rarely laughs or smiles. Knowledge is outdated and he firmly believes in what he learnt a few decades ago, simply brushing off any patient's deviations in symptoms from what he knows and just saying "That shouldn't happen". No further investigations, questions or advice/help. Just closed the book there as if saying "This is what I learnt and what others had experienced, if you don't feel the same effects, then it has to be you".

Had also asked me to go on a very large dose of a medication that I told him I was uncomfortable with due to my malnourished, underweight and skinny stature. My GP agrees that even half of the suggested dose is a little risky for a person of my poor physical health condition.

The only pros are his large and cosy office. Gives you room to move and express yourself, not that there's any need to...

Would not recommend, he prescribed medications and did not forewarn me of the risks. I tried to ring his rooms twice and was ignored.
