Dr Best keenly listened to my report of symptoms, performed a thorough assessment and referred me to appropriate specialists based on his differential diagnosis. I will be forever grateful to him! Dr Best is THE BEST!

I was admitted to the CDH emergency room 2.5 weeks ago with a bad concussion, and was lucky enough to be seen by Doctor Best. I felt like I was in great hands during a very scary experience. I am a young guy like him, and he made me feel like I was talking to a trusted friend as he advised me on what was happening. The first thing I told my wife about when I got home was how great Doctor Best was along with the rest of the ER staff at CDH. I remember lying in the ER bed and thinking how important every person working there is, and what a tough job they have. Thank you to the appropriately named Dr Best, the rest of the CDH angels, and paramedics who came and saved me in the middle of the night.

I just want to recognize professionalism at it's "Best" lol. As a long term nurse, I know about a gazillion doctors. Today I was at CDH ER, attended by Dr Best. He was friendly, informative, communicative, clear, a great listener who cares about a collaborative approach led by the Client. He was not aware I was an RN, yet treated me as an equal, was respectful, fully engaged, compassionate and collegial. Really, what more can one ask for in a doctor? Too bad for the community he doesn't have a private practice😊

Welcome to the Cowichan Valley Dr. Best. Had an absolute amazing experience with Dr. Best in the Duncan hospital emergency room. He was caring, thorough and went the extra mile to informing me the best approach to determine my ailment. Certainly a gem of a doctor. I hope he doesn’t leave!

Like everyone else commented, Dr. Best left a lasting impression on me. It was a very busy night in the ER during my visit. He took responsibility and apologized for the long wait, treated me as a human and went the extra mile to give me his contacts in case my situation gets worse. He listened, shared some of his experiences and made sure I felt safe. His genuine care was totally unexpected because up until I saw him, I was already passed back and forth between several hospital staff who were all rushed to take care of other patients. Dr. Best made the 4 hour wait totally worth it. Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it!

He was the ER doctor when we went to Burnaby Hospital ER because our two year-old son bumped his head on the coffee table. He is a cheerful gentleman and was super pleasant and understanding even when my son got very fussy during examination. He explained everything in a thorough fashion and even gave us his contact number should anything out of the ordinary happen. He reserved CT scan as a last resort due to the radiation but luckily, we don't think it's necessary now. We only interacted with him for 15-20 minutes but he made such lasting impression on us. Explained everything in complete detail for a non-medical person like myself to understand at the Burnaby Hospital ER. He was kind enoug to give his contact number if the symptoms do not subside so he can get me back into ER for a CT scan. Seriously his name couldn’t be anything other than Best!
