Biography

Dr. Sharma was born and raised in Mill Woods, Edmonton where he attended University of Alberta to earn his Bachelor of Science degree and later went on to complete his Doctorate of Optometry with Honors from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. During his last year of Optometry school, Dr. Sharma completed his studies via clinical rotations which included ocular disease, pediatrics, specialty contact lens fitting, primary care, and referral care in a tertiary medical center. He is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, The Alberta Optometric Association and Canadian Optometric Association. During his time in Boston, as a student, Dr. Sharma volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts mentoring a less fortunate child through guidance, friendship, and long-term positive role modelling. Upon graduating in 2008, Dr. Sharma returned to Edmonton and became a volunteer with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In 2013 Dr. Sharma started his own charity, See It Forward; a charitable organization that is centered on providing hope through vision for the visually impaired. See It Forward provides free vision care and glasses to those who are not fortunate enough to afford vision care for themselves. Dr. Sharma has been practicing optometry in Edmonton since June of 2008 in a variety of practices. Recently, Dr. Sharma has expanded his practice and is now practicing out of his newest location, Beyond Vision. His services include routine eye exams for patients of all ages, ocular emergencies, contact lens fittings, diagnosis and treatment of many ocular conditions and diseases, cosmetic treatments including Latisse, and surgical consultations including pre- and post- op evaluations. Dr. Sharma provides his patients with paramount eye care using state of the art technology to enhance his patients' lives through better vision, while offering the latest fashion eye wear and highest quality lenses.
