Disgusting excuse of a “medical professional”, should work at McDonald’s but would likely mess up your order

This neurologist has no knowledge of concussion and post concussion symtoms, which is very ironic.

Concluded I have conversion disorder, and my symptoms were psychological, from stress and anxiety.

Saw a neurological physiotherapist who confirmed I am still suffering post concussion symptoms, after 2 head strikes late last year.

Trust your instincts, refer to Dr Google, see another specialist or physiotherapist.

He advised me that my severe headaches and neck pain must be from overusing paracetamol, without even asking me if I use panadol or how often, this is what he concluded! He was very dismissive and refused to do any tests. He just rattled off research data that was irrelevant to my matter. I left the room at Westmead hospital in tears. I now know I have a disc protrusion impinging on a nerve from an injury and he didn't help to diagnose it. I am disappointed that Westmead Hospital would have doctors with highly inflated egos seeing patients who are suffering from pain and treating them like they are just a statistic and not an individual.
Dr Duggins you should not presume that every person eats too much panadol, not sure how you need a degree to come to that decision!

I was referred to this neurologist as I had a history of falls to the right side, trouble with movement/walking and major headaches. A brain tumor was found on the left frontal lobe so of course this made sense!. He told me my issues were all psychological and that I needed to see a psychiatrist! I went on to another neurologist and with some physical therapy and seizure meds and headache meds I am now functioning again thanks to other neurologists.

Rude and shows no empathy whatsoever in a field where people are trying to come to terms with some devastating diagnoses. Basically telling someone you have dementia so start looking for a nursing home in the same sentence. Best thing I did for my mothers dignity was not to make her see him again

I went in with a possible diagnosis from my optometrist who had excellent equipment of optic neuritis. He basically dismissed her diagnosis , did some very basic tests and made an assumption it was my blood vessels, saying she was 'only an optometrist' and he would wait to hear from the opthomologist. Guess what, the opthomologist had the same diagnosis and did pretty much the same tests. Now I am waiting for a call from , and wasn't provided with an estimated time for this call, him for a treatment plan. The opthomologist was stunned that he wasn't meeting with me and provided documentation that I can't give him. He seemed very judgemental and ignorant of anyone he deems to be below him regardless of their knowledge. I'm considering finding a different neurologist to visit as my gut tells me not to trust him.

Stay away from Dr Duggins. He is rude, dismissive and discriminatory. Not to mention his completely inaccurate diagnosis. He didn’t even read report and letters which accompanied my referral letter. Wait time was 2 hours and consultation time was approximately 5 minutes. Stay away at all costs!

I attended Dr Duggins' practice in 2016. I will never return.
I was referred to him by my GP due to some irregularities that were picked up via a brain MRI scan, particularly with regards to the possibility that I may have had MS. That was something about which I was quite fearful.
Dr Duggins' physical or 'reflex' examination of me was thorough and professional. I have no complaints about that.
I did, however, find his statement to me - afterwards, and when I was informing him about another specialist's verbal conclusions to me concerning the effects of certain medications - that, "I only have your word for that" an absolute insult and undermining of my very...'personhood', I think. I remember feeling shocked, indignant, gobsmacked, hurt and moreover - I've got to say - pissed off. In fact, both despite of, and because of, the anger that I was feeling, I actually said to him, "I feel really pissed off right now...I am so much more than a mental health patient". Yep, that's right folks, my GP had had the audacity (and I use that word tongue-in-cheek) to rightly include in her referral letter to Dr Duggins that I suffer from/with depression and anxiety.
In the end, Dr Duggins was obviously so moved - and, I believe, so very arrogant in his apparent inflated view of his own expertise as a medical professional re heads/brains - that he proceeded to diagnose me with a particular psychiatric condition!! I asked him to write the word (aka condition) down. Amazingly, he did.
The effects upon me, of Dr Andrew Duggins' 'communications' with me, were - and continue to be - distressing and damaging, but I'm just going to leave that part at that; that's for me to deal with.
Affirmingly, however, is that my GP advised when I next saw her that she'd no longer refer to Dr Andrew Duggins any patient who suffers from any form of psychiatric/mental health condition, such was this neurologist's seemingly discriminatory attitude and behaviour.

We had a 2.30pm and arrived on time. After 30 mins there was discontent amongst the other patients waiting. The man next to us had been waiting since 1.10pm and it was now 3.30pm. A woman asked the receptionist how long she would have to wait as it had already been almost an hour and was told there was no way of knowing. She walked out. By 4pm we were told we were next. We had been waiting for 1 1/2 hours. There was no water cooler and no apology for the wait. By 4.30pm after waitin 2 hours we gave up. I had to be at work and couldn’t wait any longer. A 2 hour wait is just not on. His patients are booked at 20min intervals but clearly he spends much more time with his patients which shows that greed is what motivates him. No apology or heads up from the receptionist about wait times. If we had known the wait was going to be that long we could have found somewhere to have a coffee or at least get a bottle of water! There has to better service than this from someone just as good somewhere else.
