I was referred to Dr. Carlson from a very reputable doctor in the Indianapolis area. My symptoms are squarely within the specialty of gastroenterology. However, Dr. Carlson refused to see me because the previous doctor did not find the reason behind my symptoms. The previous doctor told me that I needed a gastroenterologist. However, since the easy steps had already been taken, this doctor refused to see me. If you lack the creativity and imagination to do a proper diagnosis beyond the first tier investigation, then why be a specialist? For that matter, why be a doctor at all? In my opinion, this doctor simply did not see me because he does not think he can simply sell me a colonoscopy and be done with it. Save your money and find a real doctor.
