He had leftover syringe etc on a tray in the treatment room when I came in.
I found it odd he didn’t have an assistant with him as he did previously.
He said he would go get my juvederm and be right back, taking the tray of things with him. Returned less than a minute later with tray and seemed like it looked exactly as it did when it left and then he quickly placed tray on counter but far enough back so I would’ve had to turn my entire body in the chair to get a good look at it. He said ok close your eyes if you want sometimes people think it makes the pinch of the injection less and he laughed.
I am sooo disappointed in myself because I had an every bad feeling the minute I sat in the chair.
And I should have just left right then.
I instead talked myself out of whatever I was feeling and let him do the lip injections.
He did the few pokes and that’s all I felt. It was super fast and much faster than previously. Then he quickly said ok there’s your 1 syringe. Then proceeded to tell me if I want more come back in a couple of months for a touch up. I knew for sure something wasn’t right. I left there baffled wondering what just happened. My instinct was that he didn’t inject anything. And then I panicked and thought omg he used a dirty needle on me!! He didn’t go get a new needle and product. How? He left and returned so fast!
I was too embarrassed to tell anyone.
Then after a couple days I didn’t notice any difference and being my second round of filler on a short time there should’ve been a big difference. I sent a email to the clinic with my claims and demanded a refund. After a slight argument from the staff they agreed to refund me. The audacity to work for a criminal like that and then give me attitude. It was more than obvious the receptionist knew damn well what this guy was about!!
I hope this POS does a slow painful death. I wish I had the courage to go ahead and sue him at the time. I regret it so much. He definitely refunded me to avoid further action! If he was innocent I’d have never seen a dime.

Dr strauss is one of the nicest and knowledgeable doctors around. It’s too bad laurel Hickman and her gang are trying to portray him otherwise. We all know you are tarnishing his reputation you sick individual. He has helped out thousands of people over the years, a true healer in the sense of a doctor can be. His sudden departure from clinical practice will be greatly missed. To all of you reading this post, he was a great man and doctor who positively changed lives around him. I don’t know if all of you heard, but he suddenly vanished. Rest In Peace Dr Strauss.

I found Strauss through Groupon about 6 years ago. I've tried almost everything now. There was a real bag doing Vela shape there for a short time but I made complaints as well as many others so she got fired. Thank god. Strauss is more than qualified and really bends over backwards for everyone. My whole family sees him for different things and I think the college should be ashamed of themselves for making it so difficult for Naturopath. My 3 year old has to wait in the lobby or he'll get suspended for having 2 people in his office. He's not just a doctor but he's a human being with a family. Ever since Pootree the wonderful receptionist left I can't say any of the receptionists are amazing, but Strauss is great. I recommend him to everyone.

not sure who you are below my review , but he has helped me in many ways...OVER 3 years of help... and its you that is causing problems as you are . I know who am, and he has clients for a reason. there is no such thing as perfect also, someone that is jealous that will try and sabotage you must get pleasure in doing this to people .

Two doctors refused to help me. Dr. Strauss gave me hope. He found all the info about my severe problems and discussed with me each step of treatment. He tried to correct mistakes done by other doctor …His warm attitude pulled me out of deepest depression. His confidence in the final success surprised and calmed me down. Now I feel as somebody threw me out of life, because no one will help me more. Please, return my doctor back!

I have been going to Dr Strauss for about 4.5 years. I started going to him while my daughter was sick with cancer. Not only was my self esteem shot and I was feeling rugged and worn out Dr. Strauss made me feel like I was human again. I was tired looking all the time. Do you freaking blame me I was living at children's hospital day in and day out. When I got the chance I needed that little bit of feeling like I could actually get through it all. Dr. Strauss has given me botox and fillers, lets me make payments as he understands how hard it is for some people. He has helped me also with his natural remedies and shakes. He has just sat and talked with me when I just needed someone to talk to. My child has been gone now 2 years and I am still going to him. These rude comments that are on here, well I am sorry this person obviously has nothing better to do than make some other human being look bad. Dr. Strauss is not any of those things for who ever is reading this. He is a lovely caring man that has a beautiful family and actually cares. Thank you Dr. Strauss.

Last week I went to the Clinic for a facial treatment and again received excellent care, and help with my concerns. I have been going to Dr.Strauss's clinic for the past 4 years and appreciate their honesty, knowledge, and thoughtfulness. I highly recommend the clinic.

After taking my daughter to numerous doctors due to teenage skin issues and having no luck I took her to Dr. Strauss. She also had other emotional issues which were not mentioned. Dr. Strauss checked her hormones and put her onto hormone treatment which not only corrected her skin but the emotional issues too.

I brought my 3 year old daughter to get help for her eczema, and relentless stomach issues. My daughter had severe pain and bloody bowel movements, almost daily. My MD and I could not suppress the pain and calm down the pain my daughter was experiencing daily. After battling an undiagnosed digestive pain and dealing with eczema I was referred to dr. Allan Strauss from my hairstylist in maple ridge. I gave dr. Strauss a try and he wanted to immediately do a blood allergy test for food and was reluctant on prescribing any products on the first visit. Dr .strauss offered to prescribe l'glutamine and probiotics and I decided to wait until the results came in. I appreciated his insight and willingness to get facts and not take a guess. About 3 weeks later dr strauss's office called me in to review the lab report. To my surprise and his 32 foods out of 120 were moderate to severe for my daughter. He wonderfully and easily explained the results, what they mean, and how to best deal with them. I received plenty of handouts and I felt that he really cared for my daughter's health. Dr Allan was so excited to find the foods on her lab. After a few weeks following his suggestions my daughters skin cleared up completely and she has not complained about her stomach pain since. It gas been a few months and I'm very impressed what dr Strauss has provided myself and my daughter. Thank you so very much dr Allan.

Dr. Allan Strauss has injected myself and my friends with Botox and dermal fillers over the last few years. I received multiple syringes of Revanesse and bottles of Dysport, some times Xeomin...depending on what we are trying to achieve. If you see this doctor, ask to see the packaging, he would be glad to show you. Unlike some people in the Fraser Valley whom have very little basis for their arguments against this doctor, he is a pioneer, top injector, and highly certified in comparison to other clinics. Look and see whom he is part of. When you do fantastic, consistent work with your patients, you are bound to get picked on by some bad apples from time to time. Keep in mind public, that Dr.Strauss is part of many clinics, all over B.C. He sets the bar of quality in cosmetic medicine. Yes he has nurses with him, that's for the patient care, as well as, to ease the strain on one doctor in daily practice.
I am registered nurse and I work with surgeons all day long. Anyone who is good at their doctor job will get picked on from time to time, it's the unfortunate part of doing medicine these days. Too many voices on the internet, too many unsubstantiated opinions with no basis to slander this doctor. Dr.Strauss has great reviews on RealSelf, just look up and read yourself. Most of the negative comments sound like vexacious slanderous comments personally directed at him. What did Dr. Allan Strauss do to piss off so many people? He propagated with Health Canada a Canada wide recall of Juvederm. What doctor would do that? I bet your doctor would hide in a cave with embarrassment. Dr. Strauss tackled the situation head on, to ensure the public is safe, and yes steps were taken to ensure that this does not happen again to any clinic, not only his but any clinic in Canada. Think about it people. He has a letter to the profession and public, read it and you will see.
Unlike most of these unsubstantiated comments, mine is real. Dr. Allan Strauss is a great doctor, and has stood up to my family MD to ensure that I get the best healthcare possible, asking directly to hospital staff how to triage my care within the hospital system. I eventually got what I needed and that was a CT scan, to rule out any tumors. Thanks to Dr. Allan Strauss, I don't think I would have got my CT scan in time.
All in all, politics and public safety sometimes intermingle and collide. With how many clinics this doctor is part of, it's only Maple Ridge that creates a fuss. Try to find a real testimonial and base your judgement on that. 5 star rating for himself and his clinics.
