Dr. Esses is the best of the best. I was so blessed to be her patient for the last several years. I came to her with an impending divorce but ended with stage 4 breast cancer. No matter what, Dr Esses was on my team and helped me navigate my new normal with grace. She is my hero.

I began seeing Dr Esses approximately 6 years ago. We had regular sessions, twice a month. Today was a sad day because it was my last session with Dr Esses as she retires from her clinical practice. With that said, it was a day I was prepared for in large part thanks to her! When I sought out help many years back, I was a hot mess. I was overtaken by my generalized and health related anxiety. Dr Esses was a patient and professional psychologist who never gave up on me, and I'm sure it was exhausting. I will say the same thing I said directly to her in our last meeting today. She has been a profound influence, a pillar of support, and is truly excellent at what she does. Literally, the best. She made it clear to me from the beginning that there was no quick fix. She has helped me realize over time the source of my anxiety, and in a very indepth way- how to deal with it and think about it. She has a truly unique gift to help one help themselves. I have felt progressively stronger over the years. I have been shown the way and given the tools to help myself. A true gift from someone I consider to be a truly special person.

Dr. Esses is a gem. She has gently guided me to gain insights into my attachment issues and how they affected my sense of self, relationships and behaviors. I highly recommend Dr. Esses. For the last year she has helped me shift my focus from the negative aspects of my past to all the positive things I have in my life now. She made me feel very comfortable (which is difficult for me) and there was zero judgement.

Dr. Esses helped me see the reality of my life situation and provided coping strategies which will serve me well in future. She taught me about the importance of boundaries in relationships, making correct choices, and accepting responsibility for my actions. She used a wide range of approaches, which allowed me to read, discuss and experiment with finding the right path of action for me, She taught me how to trust and love unselfishly. Dr Esses has been my psychologist for the past few years. She has been an exceptional professional with her amazing wit and understanding of the underling issues that are preventing me from being stuck. She is able to shine a light on the issues and make you aware and address your @#$%! Sorry for my tone but Dr Esses tells it like it is and makes you accountable.
