She overseen my second pregnancy in 2014 and 2015 I found she was very rude, rushed me out. And took 2 hours to come see me, because it was prenatal check ups it was important I stayed and made sure all was well. However she was not considerate of my time and my responsibilities around my scheduled time. It would take her a very long time.to get to the room to see me. I found her to be very rude. I am currently pregnant again and was told she would be overseeing my pregnancy for a few weeks I declined this as I do not feel comfortable with her. I do not appreciate the way she has treated me in the past. I do hope she learns to hold space in her heart for everyone seeing as she is a doctor.

Dr. Otani has been my doctor over the past 8 years. In that time I have had several medical needs- mental health and physical. She knows her stuff, listens to your concerns and is very empathetic. Some people may think she comes off as cold but she is just a straight shooter. After the birth of my first child, my dad died- literally the next day. She called me just to check in on me. I had not shared what happened to her but she obviously took the time to read my file and make sure that I was okay mentally and physically. I have cried in her office many a times and I do not feel judged. I feel that she takes all of my concerns seriously and will send a referral if I need it. She is just great and I highly recommend her. I trust that she has my best interests at heart.

I've been seeing her for a while and she's always wonderful, always listens to whats going on and lists out options very clearly. After years of changing doctors, she's the first to actually help me with my chronic migraines and not treat me as a liar or attention seeker or over the top coddle me and treat me as a child.

Dr. Otani is extremely moody. Sometimes she acts like she has no idea who I am. Mostly, she just rushes in and out. She has NEVER suggested a pelvic exam in the 8 years I have gone to her. When I ask, she blows it off. I am 52 years old. I have had endometriosis all my life and she knows this. I am in chonic pain now, to the point where I struggle to walk. I fall a lot and she knows this too but she does nothing to help. I suffer from severe depression and she knows this yet again, just breezes in, looks blankly at me, asks what I want, I start telling her, she squeals BUSY BUSY YOU KNOW....writes my prescriptions that dont do anything and walks out. DO NOT TELL ME TO GET A NEW DR. Do you know how hard it is to get a female Dr. who speaks decent English? I am fed up with Drs who you are expected to GUESS what they are saying. Of course, you get labeled a racist if you say anything. Ive seen Drs in Emergency and you have ZERO CLUE what they are saying. We have a broken medical system here, if you are not rich, connected, if you are alone with no one to advocate for you, then you should just do these precious Drs like Otani a favor and go home and rot so she can go on holiday #5 and spit out kid #8 and work 1 day a week.

Have always had great experiences with Dr. Otani. I appreciate her kindness, understanding and always willing to listen to my concerns. She’s been great to my toddler and I and we never have to wait long to see her. Thank you

Not a helpful Dr. in any way. Not interested in dealing with my severe back pain. I broke my back in a waterskiing accident and I suffer from severe chronic pain that Otani ignores 100% .
I will find a human next time. Cold hag.

Dr Otani is professional yet compassionate, and has really been a great support to me and my children. One of my children is disabled and when we needed to get a diagnosis, she very quickly referred us and got us the help we needed. She does not do what the patient wants, which is why I believe some on this site have called her “Cold hearted”. She will not prescribe you what you think you need, but what she thinks you need. She did go to medical school and has been practicing for many years; I didn’t. I think patients need to respect her knowledge and they’ll see she’s a very good doctor. Since moving to the Lakeside Clinic she seems lighter/less stressed? I think the transition to lakeside was a great decision. The clinic is beautiful, modern, and staff are friendly. I feel lucky to have a supportive doctor in my corner.
