I can't share enough about the outstanding service Dr. Walker and staff have provided. I had spent much of my life unaware of how my thought and behavioral patterns were impacted by ADD. Dr. Walker spent several hours with me to help advance my understanding. While under his care, I have been promoted multiple times at work, launched a new business, and been nominated as President of a local institution. My life has benefited greatly by Dr. Walker and I highly recommend him.

I have been under the care of Dr. Walker for over 6 years. His comprehensive care included help with lifestyle modifications, planning, time management. I have been always very happy with provided care. Kathleen makes it easy to make follow up appointments and she promptly responds to emails.

Dr. Walker is one of just a few doctors with an in depth understanding of the cause, course, and treatment of ADHD. I first sought treatment for my ADHD with my PCP. I had numerous unsuccessful trials, and I know my experience is not unique. Physicians have so many ailments they need to treat, and so many medications to be aware of, it is no surprise they cannot achieve proficiency in each and every case. Dr. Walker understands ADHD as a patient and as a psychiatrist, and his specialization in the area makes him a great resource for anyone, like myself, suffering from ADHD.

After having spent my whole life being misdiagnosed, finding Dr Walker has been life changing. With the correct diagnosis of ADHD and being on the right medications, I am able to live without the depression and anxiety I was previously diagnosed with. I am now able to stay organized with his guidance and feel accomplished at the end of each day! Thanks Dr. Walker.

I have been speaking with Dr. Walker for 2 years now, have had the best experience and think of him as a friend more than a doctor. I was struggling with my mental illness and Dr. Walker has helped me reorganize my mind to help me function better and subsequently, learn more about myself. I will recommend him to anyone, him and Kathleen are amazing, and I sincerely appreciate their effort and diligence, five stars all the way!

Dr. Walker is fantastic! He listens and understands and to help you understand your not alone he tells you about his life because he also has ADHD. Ive seen ma y therapists over the years and was diagnosed with all sorts of things, and put on meds for those meds not to work and only make me frustrated. When I saw Dr. Walker at first it was by a recommendation and I didn't really want to because I felt like my "problems " were just something I'd ALWAYS have to deal with because of past therapists. Dr. Walker described my problems to a T BEFORE I told him much..... I had no idea that ADHD can cause such frantic thoughts and stress. Since I've seen him, he has helped me 1000x over and NOT just because he put on meds for ADHD (which are working unlike ANY past meds I was put on for supposedly this or that)

My visit with Frederick Walker was an experience that I hope no one else goes through. Please, for your mental health, do NOT see this man.

Let me tell you about my experience: The call started out normally, he asked me why I was seeing him. That was the first five minutes of the appointment.

After that is was a one sided conversation of me being talked AT and only about himself or things he liked. Occasionally he would ask me questions but if I answered in a way he didn't like or in a way he wasn't expecting he would get upset and correct me or he would get flustered but continue talking. Now these were mainly opinion questions so I didn't get anything "wrong", he just didn't like that I disagreed with him.

Now, the whole appointment was full of inappropriate moments but let me just tell the worst parts. First, he said that it is silly to be anxious because in the long run individual people don't matter. The exact quote from Dr. Walker was "no lives matter". When I protested to this phrase he said "I'm not like other therapists".

Second, during the appointment he had me watch a video of a cop's body cam footage. In that video the cops shot and killed two men. When I started to cry he asked if I was emotional. Note: Before I watched the video I asked if he was having me watch a video of someone dying and he said no.

Third, when I told him he wasn't a good fit for me he got upset. He argued with me and claimed that I had poor judgement because I am depressed and anxious.

Dr. Frederick Allen Walker needs to have is license taken from him before he causes more harm to vulnerable people.

Dr. F. Allen Walker: Louisville ADHD

I have known I was ADHD since I was 14. I took medication and went to regular appointments while I was in school and living at home. After taking my first “big girl job”and moving to Louisville, I started hating medication and blamed it for my high level of frustration, irritability and moodiness. I tried a lot of different doctors, at least five, all of them just wanted to talk to me for 10 minutes hand me a prescription and schedule my follow up appointment. Since I already had an ADHD diagnosis, none of them took the time to listen to me, they just wanted to treat my “disorder”. For 3 1/2 years I had completely given up on ADHD treatment, until one day I decided I was tired of living this way and admitted to myself that I couldn’t fix my “problems” on my own. I was in a really bad place and desperate for someone to help me, I kept being told I was just depressed and handed a couple prescriptions, but I decided to give it another shot and found Dr. Walker. Since then my life my mood and my self-esteem has improved exponentially. He takes the time to talk to me, to listen and understand. I have never had a Doctor that had a passion for it and understood it on a personal level. Dr. Walker taught me that there’s nothing wrong with me, that our brains work differently, but different isn’t bad it’s only a problem if I allow it to go untreated letting my ADHD wreak havoc on my life. Working from home would have been my worst nightmare before I met Dr. Walker. But because of him and his personalized treatment plan, I was recognized as the top performer at my company. I have never been a top performer at anything that required discipline organization and accountability. I am so thrilled with my experience I would recommend him to anyone, the difference he has made in my life is incredible and I am so thankful for it. He is a wonderful doctor because he’s passionate about what he does, helping people like us means something to him no one is just another patient. He may not except insurance( due to the BS Insurance billing regulations) but I really couldn’t careless because for the first time I am being treated like a person, not a statistic. Every penny I have spent on my treatment with him has been And investment in my future, i’m already seeing the return on my investment with the compliments and recognition I have received. I know that over the next couple of years the money I’ve spent will be returned tenfold because I am able to perform better at work and reach my true potential, all thanks to my wonderful doctor. If you are, or think you may be ADHD and your fed up with 10 minute appointments that don’t teach you anything, You need to call them and schedule your first appointment right now! I promise you will not regret it. Dr. Walker and his staff our kind and amazing and willing to work out payment plans with their patients which tells me they know what they’re doing is working and worth it. I am a success story and you can be too, all it takes is the right treatment plan, personalized to who you are. As far as I’m concerned this excess could not have been found anywhere else

Is Dr. Walker giving out discounts to people who leave him positive reviews? I can only laugh when reading some of these because he was the polar opposite when I was a patient of him. This clown show did nothing, but take my money. I got nothing out of his sessions except for a fat bill. After all, his practice is set up to drain you of your hard earn money. Look at some of the negatieve reviews. They all agree with me. Dig deep on this website to a few years back. He went from negative reviews to positive reviews over night. What exactly are you getting for $300 excpt for a guy who tries to break you down so he can build you back up; session after session after session. In other words, that's money, money, money in his poclet. The BS he spews is garbage. You could find itfor yourself on the internet........ for free!!! The guy is a narcissistic hypocrite who's more interested in talking about his, "Achivements," and his family. I mean hey, if you want to pay $300 a session to hear about his vacation to Florida, knock yourself out. He's your guy. If I recall, he started out in geriatric psychiatry. Then one day he figured out he could market myself as this, "Expert," on ADHD where he could take advantage of all the vulnerable people out there who are looking for answers in how to improve their lives. ADHD isn't exactly something that takes expertise. Google, "Ways of coping with ADHD." That won't cost you $300. Ask yourself. What does he do that makes him better than any other psychiarist? Here's the answer....... nothing. You can get the same advice from any other doctor. I'm talking doctors who actually take insurance. Would you rather lose money or save money? If you're getting the same advice from a medical professional while saving $1,000 a month vs this guy, wouldn't you go with the doctor who took insurance? It's kind of a no brainer. To all gullible people praising this guy, wake up. You're getting hoodwinked. I was in the same boat until I figured him out. I can only try and advise others before they make the same mistake as me. Now that I think about it, some of the reviews look very similiar. It's almost like the same person is writing multiple reviews. Look for yourself. Would any rational patient or consumer of any product say this? ====== There are a lot of costs in maintaining a practice that one typically does not think of, from overhead and utilities to systems maintenance. In the end, only a portion of the fee would actually make it to his bank account====== Why would any patient in their right mind even try and explain this in regards to a doctor service? Better yet, how would a patient know this? He wouldn't. Make sense? Yeah........ thought so. Moral of the story, get help elsewhere.

I was a patient of Dr. Walker's for a couple years. During that time he was super helpful in helping me learn to understand and cope with my ADHD as an adult. He was also the first and only person (doctor or otherwise) to accurately recognize my adult ADHD for what it was, instead of misdiagnosing it as OCD or writing it off as a character flaw, such as lack of motivation or laziness. He was an invaluable resource to me during the time I saw him, and I will be forever grateful for his insight and contribution. However, I also have some constructive feedback and criticism that I feel would be beneficial for him when interacting with patients in the future. If I had to give one piece of advice, it would be this: practice more respect for patients personal boundaries. There were a couple of times when he asked me things I wasn't comfortable discussing because I felt like they were too personal, none of his business, and/or didn't have anything to do with my ADHD (the issue I was seeing him for). But instead of respecting my wishes and boundaries by dropping the particular subject when I clearly expressed my desire not to discuss it, he continued to try and pry an answer out of me, and made me feel like I had to explain myself and justify my feelings and reasoning for wanting to avoid the topic before he would honor my wish to stay away from it. He likes to complain about there being a "generation of entitlement" in the world today, but ironically, he himself sometimes fails to understand that simply being a psychiatrist doesn't make you entitled to information that a patient doesn't want to give, regardless of their reasoning for not wanting to do so, and it certainly doesn't give you the right to violate their boundaries that they're clearly trying to enforce by continuing to press them to give you the info you want. This is honestly the thing that made me decide to leave his practice and seek care elsewhere, because after a particularly upsetting incident in which the above scenario occurred, I no longer felt like I could trust him to respect my wishes and emotional boundaries, and if I can't trust someone to do that, then I no longer feel comfortable entrusting them with my mental health. I also felt like I was being shamed and scolded for not conducting certain areas of my personal life that have absolutely nothing to do with managing my ADHD according to a timeline that he personally (not professionally) believed was appropriate for my age. Since I won't tolerate being made to feel pressured into conforming to someone else's opinion and standards for how I should live my life, what choices I should make, how, and when, I made the decision to leave, as I don't need that kind of unnecessary stress, drama, and negativity surrounding me. So, the one piece of constructive criticism I would give to Dr. Walker would be to advise him to be more mindful and intentional about respecting and honoring patients personal wishes, choices, and boundaries, regardless of how small or specific they are, and regardless of whether or not he personally agrees with them or thinks they're silly. He might be the expert and authority when it comes to psychiatry and ADHD, but the patient is the expert and authority when it comes to their own life, feelings, perspectives, and choices. As a whole, my overall experience with Dr. Walker was a positive one, and he is a wonderful resource when it comes to helping patients diagnose, treat, and understand their ADHD, and for that I can't help but recommend him highly. His only real weak spot is that he could stand to be a little bit more understanding and accommodating when it comes to the personal boundaries, preferences, opinions, choices, and perspectives of his patients, especially when he might not always like or agree with them.
