Dr. Jamie Cyriac perrformed my Roux-en-Y surgery 10 years ago now and I still remember his kind compassionate demeanor. I lost and have maintained my loss of 130 lbs. for 10 years. I am so thankful to him. In every meeting he was attentive and understanding. Thank you again Dr. Cyriac

Dr Cyriac is a terrible physician who took advantage of patients through private lap-band clinics outside of the hospital system. I had many issues and tried repeatedly to get help through his then private clinic and they never returned my call or allowed any follow-up appointments. I was hospitalized at a different for 2-weeks after him insisting there was nothing wrong with my lap-band. Only when the other hospital pressed did he agree to remove the band, at the expense of tax-payers, and he forced me to sign a waiver releasing him of all wrong-doing, before performing the surgery. When I questioned it, he flat out refused to take me into the OR for the surgery (this is separate from the usual surgery release papers that I had already signed). His partner at the private clinic had his license suspended and then revoked, but somehow Dr. Cyriac managed to escape unscathed. He is now performing gastric bypass/sleeve surgeries in Toronto. My close friend received RNY through the OBN and unfortunately was assigned Dr. Cyriac as her surgeon. She almost died and needed a feeding tube placed for almost 6 months. He also denied any responsibility and a different surgeon had to re-operate to fix Dr. Cyriac's mistake....and it was a mistake that could have cost her her life. Maybe he is good at other surgeries, but when it comes to weight-loss surgery, I highly recommend running in the other direction and finding a new surgeon. If I hadn't been forced to sign away my rights to have the surgery I needed to repair the damage HE caused, I would have pursued legal action. Thank God my complications went away after the band was finally removed.

Dr. Cyriac did my lapband removal 16-Feb-21 and it was a breeze. Once I heal he will do my RNY procedure and I would not let anyone else touch me. He takes the time to explain and answer questions and put you at ease. I feel like he has given me hope for my future finally. Excited for next stage.

He did my rny March 12 2020. Amazing bedside manner - the whole team at Michael Garron is incredible! I’ve had zero issues to date post op. I was able to slowly walk back to my AirBnb the day after surgery. If you are sent to him for surgery - you are in the best of hands.

Dr. Jamie Cyriac is an amazing surgeon. He performed a RNY Gastric Bypass for me and I was up and out of the hospital less than 24 hours later. I was able to do 10k steps the day after surgery and it has been a breeze every day since. He is down to earth, he answers all your questions and you feel that you are in good hands the whole time. I have heard many other people speak about their experiences with this procedure and I can tell you, I was fortunate to find the right surgeon. I would recommend Dr. Cyriac wholeheartedly to anyone I know.

I had gastric bypass surgery at TEGH over 6 yrs ago. Thank you Dr Cyriac for changing my life for the better. The whole experience with him and the hospital was wonderful. I felt like I was in good hands.

I had gastric bypass surgery a year ago on the third of June 2015 and let me tell you it was the best thing I ever did! before surgery i was 2060 pounds with high blood pressure, cholesterol and border line diabetes since the surgery it is all gone and I weigh 152 pounds and still losing!!!!! the best choice I have ever made!!! Dr. Cyriac is the best and did an excellent job. Since the surgery I have been to Cuba twice and have a job in mental health and justice which I love, None of this wouldn't of happened without the surgery. Thank you Dr. Cyriac I would be a mess if I hadn't gotten the surgery, Now my life is worth living and all my depression is gone If you want this surgery,its alot of work but worth all you go through to reach your goal. It literally changes your life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
