Dr. Barske and her staff ensured a great experience through bunion surgery on both feet - right foot May 2022 and left foot January 2024.
The experience both times was outstanding - I had a consult, advice that I was a good candidate for surgery, and I waited for awhile for the surgery, but it was so worth it in the long run.
I had very little pain both times, I followed the surgeon’s instructions and the recovery went very smoothly.
Naturally there were hard parts, for me it was stitch removal. The staff were so kind and patient with me when I had a hard time.
Of course it is a very long recovery, but I was given comprehensive written information about what to expect and what to do after, so I understood what I was signing up for. I accepted the risk. and it turned out really well for me.
I’m still recovering on left foot, with the aircast boot on for a few more weeks.
I’m so grateful for my 2.0 feet - thank you Dr. Barske.
I have recommended her to others.

Just had great and second toe surgery with Dr. Barske. Her and her team are amazing and made me feel comfortable and heard. Will see how the healing process goes, but at this point would highly recommend her and her team at Pan Am. One of the best. Andrea and Lisa made me feel so comfortable before and after the surgery. Great bedside manner, which isn't always the case now adays. Only great things to say from start to finish. :)

Dr Heather Barske is the best, she has done several surgeries on both my feet. She worked on my R foot to clean up a mess that Dr Hammond at HSC left me with. I almost lost my foot due to staph infection that he repeatedly refused to swab in the early stages.
Dr Barske is very informative, knowledgeable, and thorough, I would recommend her if you are having issues with your feet or ankles.

I had corrective foot surgery Feb 2022 and I'm very upset that there's more wrong than right!
I was to have 2 toes corrected and ALL 5 toes are definitely messed up!!! I had hoped that I wouldn't have to see a foot care nurse monthly, any more but Dr. Barske's surgery did NOT remedy my painful foot situation. Instead I'm back to monthly visits again 😡I am EXTREMELY upset, VERY disappointed!!

I had hammer toe surgery (60+/male). She FUSED the ENTIRE bone(s) on my two toes, (next to big toe, right foot). I've had nothing but complications since. Callouses now occur (on bottom) when I walk. After surgery, (2 years later) she mentions maybe she shouldn't have fused the (entire) toe, but just a portion with a smaller pin. She never cautioned me about surgery—maybe I was just another paycheck to her? Be aware—think it through.

My bunion operation was a failure.. I ended up in the hospital for 1 week because of a pulmonary embolism because Dr Barske told me to keep my foot higher than my heart for 22 of 24 hours for two weeks. She has since changed those instructions. And I can’t wear any closed shoes because my bone protrudes so much and is getting worse. Don’t go to this doctor. It was a terrible mistake for me.

I saw Dr Barske for a hammertoe consult years ago. She was attentive to my concerns and advised that I could get surgery sooner but she felt I could probably wait for a while which would be better in the long run. She also indicated that it would be necessary to r correct my big toe also which was regressing after surgery in 1993. Eventually her diagnosis about that was quite correct as by the time I had surgery the two toes were forcing into each other and creating callouses, blisters, and horrible pain. I saw her yearly as agreed until I decided it was time to get on the waiting list for surgery. Unfortunately COVID disrupted things but I was contacted as soon as they were able to schedule surgery again. Her nurse took time to call me and ask extra questions about my medications and other issues. Before surgery Dr Barske took time to discuss anaesthesia options and go over what would happen in the months to come. I appreciated that. She did a good job on my foot!

I was referred to Dr. Barske by my doctor. She made me feel unimportant and that to solve my problems I should just “take Advil”. She was very dismissive towards me and didn’t make me feel like she wanted to help me. ( I went and seen another doctor they found broken bone and ligaments damaged and where they shouldn’t be)
But she only told me to take Advil and there’s not much she can do for my foot.. she was very rude and obviously had no care for my broken bone and ligaments that are damaged.

Dr. Barske is a very competent, knowledgeable, caring and efficient doctor. I visited at her office for hammer toes and she performed surgery and I am very thankful for her excellent care. Maureen is an extremely competent individual who answered all my questions and provided paperwork required is a speedy fashion. I am extremely pleased with the care I received.
