Dr. Psooy has gone above and beyond in terms of her communication and help for past year! She's been very gentle with my child, very forthcoming and honest about the unknowns of my kid's condition and very patient answering all my questions. I have never had another doctor or specialist be so accessible or communicative before, when situations arise. Without going into detail, she was exceptional in helping us through various complications.
I appreciate her balanced approach-trying to not do invasive procedures on my young child, but also trying to get answers and solutions.
Her assistant Sandra is also extremely kind and helpful.

Dr. Psooy operated on our 6 month year old son who was born with a ureter that was narrow in a couple places. From the beginning Dr. Psooy was upfront with us. She explained how she had performed one similar operation, but never on a small baby. It was very scary for us to have our small baby operated on. Dr. Psooy was honest and transparent through the entire process making things a lot easier on us. Although the operation didn’t go quite as expected, she was ready with a new game plan for a second procedure that resolved our son’s issue! We were extremely satisfied on her follow up style. She is an extremely caring, trustworthy and devoted urology professional. Dr. Psooy is reliable and extremely personable. Her assistant Sandra is excellent at her job too, always pleasant, knowledgable and helpful. We are so very fortunate and pleased to have this Urology team in our city. Operated on our son and everything went well until we checked him that night and found issues she had not informed us about! When we went back to her she only stated rudely that she could try and fix it but it might not work and was beyond her knowledge. We asked her to send us to someone who could help our son and she became very offensive and rude. We asked kindly again if this was her child where would she go. She finally told there was help at Sick Kids in Toronto. We met a fabulous dr there and he operated on our son twice which required us to stay in Toronto three weeks at a time but he was absolutely incredible and the outcome was perfect! He even followed up with our son yearly until he was 18.

Felt disrespected and not listened too. She ran no tests and made it clear that we were wasting her time because she felt the pediatrician could handle it. Came off as cold and arrogant. Hard to believe she works with children.

My son had a surgery last Thur and it was all great from the doctor to the recovering room. They made both me and my son feel so comfortable and welcome. After surgery she came to talk to me and explained everything with patience and knowledge. So 5 stars to Dr. Psooy, 5 stars to the nurses, 5 stars to the medical assistants and admitting stuff. You all were wonderful!

Dr. Psooy was direct and to the point but kind and willing to listen when we explained what two other doctors had advised us about the concern with our child. She even undressed him again to re-examine when we brought up something that she hadn't been considering when she did her initial examination. We left the appointment that day with a "let's wait and see" sort of response, but then were called back by the doctor herself a few days later stating that she had completed some additional research on her own and wanted to further investigate some possibilities. She didn't pretend to know everything and she was willing to keep exploring to learn along with us. That is the mark of a great doctor to me.

Was a bit nervous talking about these things with doctors at the office dr psooy seemed a bit rough around the edges but during the operation for our son she was very knowledgeable friendly and willing to answer any and all questions highly recommend her to anyone facing trails in urology!!
