I want to help all of the other prospective total hip patients in the RI area: go see Dr; Jenkins and have him do your THR. I am 4 days post op walking a mile with no cane. And the whole process was just as superlative as my result. His surgical coordinator, Meghan Kelly , cheerfully made all of my appointments fit into my erratic schedule. My pre and post op RN Alexandrina Zarensky did a terrific job of keeping me from having a panic attackpre-op and then pain free while ensuring a could use my walker well enough to go home THAT AFTERNOON!This level of caring and results deserves 6 stars but the ratings only go to 5. Thank you again Jenkins team for giving me my life back.

and Gastrointestinal surgeons. Each explained to me not just the surgical procedure, but pointed out to me, on X-Rays and MRIs, the exact physiological injury and taught me how to read X-Rays and MRIs.
Each surgeon explained every test I was to have and why. Dr. Jenkins delegated test explanation to his SECRETARY whose explanation was: “It is our Protocol.” Doctors tell a patient which test are being ordered for you and why, NOT SECRETARIES. Protocol is not a reason for a test This treatment was Insulting, Autocratic, and Omnipotent and told me: “Patients are not important enough for Dr. Jenkins to waste his time telling me, I use my Secretary to do that.” Dr. Jenkin’s Secretary could not tell me why I had to have this test, because she did not know. Stay away from Dr. Jenkin, a patient has the right to know all and to ask questions.
How to tell a bad Doctor: 1) Trust your gut; 2) If something seems off with your physician, it probably is. 3) If you detect that a doctor is indifferent or uncaring, it is best to steer clear; 4) Everyone makes mistakes now and then, but sloppiness, communication problems, or errors suggests that something is going on behind the scenes; 5) Doctors who consistently recommend unwarranted tests and procedures may be fearful of malpractice claims, inexperienced, unsure of their own medical knowledge or distrustful of their instincts. Whatever the reason. a huge red flag should go up if a doctor becomes offended when you question his or his/her judgement; 6) Does the doctor really listen to a patient’s concerns, answer their questions, and ensure that the patient understands his or her condition and treatment plan? Is the doctor respectful of a patient’s time? If the answer to any of these questions suggests a lack of respect, stay away. (Gray 2016)

I highly recommend Dr. Jenkins and his staff. I had a left total hip replacement exactly 4 weeks ago. Not only is the joint pain that I had put up with for 10 years now totally gone, I am walking with no walker, cane or even a limp. There remains some minor surgical site numbness which is expected but otherwise I am completely pleased with the outcome and impressed with the manner in which my care was provided.

A very high recommendation for Dr. Jenkins. He performed a total rt. hip replacement and the surgery and recovery went really well. It's now 5 weeks post op and I'm off and marching with no limp or pain.

Upon discovering that my initial total knee replacement had to be redone, I was very skeptical about a revision surgery. A high recommendation from my orthopedic doctor in Maine, led me to Dr. Jenkins. From the beginning, I knew I had made the right choice. Dr. Jenkins was professional but very personable and very confident that he could help me. His goal was to get me back to my active lifestyle.
After a 7 hour revision surgery, I have found this recovery to be so much easier and have had less pain than with the original surgery. A month post-op, I am almost pain free and walking with very little assistance. I would give Dr. Jenkins my highest recommendation.
In 6 months, I will make the trip from Maine to Rhode Island in order for Dr Jenkins to do a knee revision of my other knee.
