Don't try to ask him questions he doesn't like it. I dared to ask about the brace for my daughter and express concerns and he would discuss nothing but that one brace and made condescending remarks when I addressed specific concerns, his response " I can tell you have been on the internet"

The other posters are right--he runs out of the room when you start to ask questions! My daughter is not even a month old and he failed to mention at our first couple appointments that she would be in a brace for at least a year and would be seeing him for 14 years. When I showed I was surprised and upset by the news at our third appointment (after she'd been in the brace for a week), he acted like he already told me and it was my fault and that I chose to not hear that MAJOR detail. He gave me zero advice about how to do day-to-day tasks that were going to be challenging now. I'm a new mom getting used to life with a newborn and now I have to get used to living with her special needs, basically on my own, because he wasn't helpful in the least bit. We're going to a doctor in Boston instead and hope to find better bedside manner and support there!

Performed spinal fusion surgery on my daughter. Excellent surgeon, my daughter likes him a lot.

It is no joke, he literally runs out of the room when we started asking questions. If he can not communicate, it would be great if someone could communicate for him.

Doctor could not diagnose the problem, so he started to blame the patient. Finally he admitted that he most likely could not find the cause. At no point did he consult with another Doctor or suggest a second opinion. He did not believe the Physical Therapist,or Chiropractor.

My infant daughter was seeing Dr. Urbanek before we switched doctors. Dr. Urbanek has a horrible bedside manner and leaves the room while you are trying to ask questions. If he happens to answer the questions he is on his way out the door and answers them very vaguely leaving you puzzled and upset when you leave his office. We didn't feel comfortable leaving our daughter in his care so we switched doctors and practices altogether.

It is very evident Dr. Urbanek is passionate about what he does. He was wonderful with my stubborn and sassy 5 year old. He was also great at easing my fears and concerns. We were seen on time. The scheduling department was amazing and understood that we had a long drive and got us in for an ultrasound within the hour and back to see Dr. Urbanek afterward. Although he wasn't exactly sure about what kind of small lump was afflicting my daughters knee (strange location/behavior), his best guess ended up being pretty close to what we now believe is a lipoma, as seen via the ultrasound. I recommend him and the office.

went to many doctors who could not diagnose knee problem. saw him once and he knew what it was. had surgery and recovered. would highly recommend

My son had rods inplanted in his back for scoliosis, this MD was extremely patient with all of our questions. He treated my 16 yr old as an adult. we were very comfortable with him
