Dr. Garavaglia was my anesthesiologist during my recent surgery at St. Michael’s Hospital. At my pre op he took the time to instruct and discus various options for pain management as well as the affects of the full anesthetic. Subsequent to that he created a comprehensive plan for my surgery. The day of surgery Dr. Garavaglia personally came to see me and walked me step by step through the anesthetic plan again as well as pain management for post op. He personally accompanied my stretcher from the pre op room to the operating theatre and was very reassuring and comforting during the entire process. After my surgery while I was still under general anesthetic Dr. Garavaglia went to meet with my family and inform them of how the procedure had gone and reassured them of my positive condition. The Doctor then gave me a bedside visit while I was waking up. He was a constant reassurance and calming source for me during this process. Dr. Garavaglia was extremely informative, kind, comforting, and professional in every interaction we had. He is a credit to the staff at St. Mikes and a comfort to his patients.

Dr Marco was my mother's anesthesiologist for a recent stroke at the St-Michaels hospital. He is knowledgeable and caring and I can't thank him enough for his presence and care. He is genuinely a good person and it shows in his attitude and the way he communicates. He is truly one of a kind!

Dr Marco Garavaglia was My Fathers anesthesiologist for his recent Head operation at St. Mike's approximately 11 months ago. Everything about Dr. Garavaglia was beautiful. The level of care, comfort and professionalism was beyond expectations. Before and After the operation our Family was so grateful for Dr. Gavaraglia being there. The operation was a success. It was our first experience with a Hospital in Toronto for an emergency procedure like my father had done. It was amazing to realise the wonderful medical system we have in Ontario. Weeks, after the operation Dr. Garavaglia even followed up with our family. Humbling. God Bless.

Doctor Marco Garavaglia was my operating room anesthesiologist for 2 procedures over the past 9 months; a prostatectomy & most recently an umbilical hernia repair. Before that, my experience at St Mike's had been limited to the delivery our two sons, 24/26 years ago. I knew Dr Garavaglia to be well respected & the moment my surgery was scheduled I contacted him in the hopes that he may be scheduled in the operating room that day. I was impressed beyond belief to hear from him while in Europe that he would make the schedule work. His active support at every step made all the difference keeping me informed before & after the operation. The prostate removal was a long 7 hour process & my wife's concerns were calmed by the Doctor's considerate updates throughout the procedure. Extended family scattered across Canada & the US were elated to hear the in-progress news thanks to Dr Garavaglia. Both times I enjoyed a personal bedside visit & sincere follow up contact after. Excellent Doctor!

Dr. Marco Garavaglia was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! So humble and so suitably important to know that my needs came first ahead of anyone else's. I felt extremely confident that he had my back, and I was very quickly confident with his work. He came to see me after my craniotomy the next day ... very kind and lovely! I would trust him anytime!

I had a brain tumor and the surgeon told me it was very close to the area of the brain that controls my speech. He told me that the only way to remove it without having the risk to affect my speech forever it was to do an awake craniotomy. I was really terrify, thinking to have my head open and being awake. Dr. Marco was my anesthesiologist for this procedure, he was simply great! He was very kind, reassuring and knowledgeable. I remember when he told me: "Don't worry, you are not alone, we will go through this together, I'm here to help you and I will be beside you all the time". I was completely awake during the testing but I don't have any memory of this experience, except for Dr. Marco holding my hand. Honestly I didn't know who an anesthesiologist was before to meet Dr. Marco, but now I know how important he is during surgery. If one day you will have a surgery at SMH, you will find in Dr. Marco your angel.
