Dr. Peerani is very dismissive and quite rude. I have encountered her 3 times in total, each time when my family doctor was away, and have been very displeased with her demeanour and attitude towards her patients. The last time I went in for a UTI and started telling her how it has been a recurring issue for me over the last year, but she stopped me abruptly mid-sentence and told me that she wasn't interested in what happened in past but only what was bothering me today. Needless to say that the UTI issue which I presented with has been an ongoing issue from the past. I don't understand how one can practice medicine competently without gathering their patient's past medical history first. She even went on to further embarrass me by saying that I had lied about my past visits to my family doctor as she couldn't find any records of them anywhere, only later apologizing when she saw the same past notes in my chart. She absolutely did not believe that I was actually experiencing UTI symptoms (burning pain, etc. which are subjective symptoms) and after pushing over my kidneys on my back said that she doesn't think I have a UTI. Even a non-medical person realizes that UTI is a urinary tract infection and not pyelonephritis (kidney infection). If pushing on my kidneys started to hurt, that would probably mean I need urgent emergency treatment for pyelonephritis, which is much more severe than a simple UTI. My daughter who also happens to be in medicine, refuses to see or even refer someone to Dr. Peerani. It just is too bad that Dr. Peerani works in the same clinic as my family doctor and covers for him when he tends to be away. However, after the last few visits, I absolutely refuse to see her even in an emergency. I have never been humiliated like this ever in my life and been called a liar. She is very disrespectful.
