Dr. Barakso is the best dentist I have ever had. He is gentle, patient, knowledgeable and reassuring. I have recommended him to my family who love him also. I think he is the best dentist in Nanaimo and I have been to others, one left a crown incomplete, fillings have fallen out, I had to chew on one side only and numerous little things happened that made me glad to have found Dr. Barakso.

Dr. John Barakso completely restored my faith in a Dentist. My last dentist gave me such anxiety, and took so long to heal. Saw Dr. Barakso and after talking with him for a bit and him explaining what he was doing, I was at ease. The staff is so wonderful as well. Polite, professional and friendly. I recommend. Dr. Barakso to anyone.

Dr. Barakso has been our family dentist for the last 15 years. We first went to him when my son was in need of emergency dental services. Dr. Barakso was fantastic in the emergency situation and has been a wonderful dentist in all the years since. I have had numerous dental procedures done and he was caring, respectful, informative, and painless throughout. Would definitely recommend this dentist.

John is great!!! I have been a patient of his for years. His knowledge is thorough, his staff is very friendly, the hygienist is the best I've even been to and he never tries to sell you services that you don't need. I have referred several new patients here and they have reported back that they were very happy switching to him.

I moved to Nanaimo from another province around 4 years ago and brought with me some fairly extensive dental work. Dr Barakso has a calm and respectful chair side manner. I also feel he has been very honest about which dental care should be attended to immediately and which is a concern but can wait until finances allow. I have had a couple dentists over the years who I would not recommend to friends and family. Dr Barakso is not one of them

I was using this Dr Barakso as a dentist I thought i could trust, he seemed okay at first.. I got him to pull all my upper teeth, he then wanted to do a filling on a bottom back molar. He gave me a freezing injection and hit a nerve... He knew he did it, and was proud to say that was one in a thousand chance.. Part of my mouth is still frozen and the guy could have cared less. That was back in 2008 and no word or concren from this jerk.. How unprofessional he is, bet he won't admit to it , But his assistant Sheila witnessed it too, she was even less concerned... This Dr. injured me and did nothing to make things right with me... Beware ....

The front desk are always so pleasant and change appointments without hassle or guilt trips. Dr. John is so gentle that his hands feel soft like butter. He is conservative and won't suggest something unless he thinks it is necessary. I recommend him to all my friends and family, and they do too!
