I had a great experience with this doctor. He came up with a very creative solution to my problem. He treats me with respect, and I think deep down he cares about people.

Dr. Nielsen is a bit eccentric and strange but has given a good amount of care. I can see why he might rub people wrong but he's been very helpful for me. I came in wanting help for my ADHD but he also helped me with a number of other issues such as poor self esteem and social anxiety. He's a clever man with some really interesting solutions to problems.
The appointments can sometimes start a bit later than expected but it's only about 5/10 min wait. The only real problem I had was the cost of the appointments. Other than that, everything else was fine.

I am not the first to say this here, but one lasting impression Dr. Nielsen gives is that he is definitely an oddball. It seems to manifest most visibly as an obsession with written script, he is constantly scribbling on things with fountain pens and angled markers. His mannerisms are strange and unlike any other psychiatrist I have seen, and I can definitely see how he may come off as rude and indifferent to the people who see him.

That said, I have not had a bad experience with him. I see him for the management of my ADHD, and he has never given me anything less than comprehensive care. I was worried about the poor reviews of him that were posted here between my first and second session with him, but I never noticed anything different about him, my experience with him was good and helpful overall. He even had helpful information to give me for the other conditions I have but do not see him for.

Bottom line, he’s a weirdo, he seems to piss off the admins at the front desk, and maybe his manner of communication is a bit unorthodox, but my experience with his care as an adult ADHD specialist has been quite good.

I read the reviews here before seeing him. I still went. I found him to be rather weird. He didn't make eye contact, and appeared totally disinterested in me but he did what he needed to do and that was give me a diagnosis. I will go back to follow up but not sure he's my type. Not enough empathy for me. I did come away thinking he was super strange though.

I had no problem at all, I wanted to have an Item 291 completed and signed - the Dr. talked to me for a good 90 minutes and listened very well along with taking a lot of notes, he then constructed the letter and wished me well. He was fine with me. :)

Led me on on for four sessions, which I paid full price for, then on the fourth wrote up a report saying I matched the symptoms while only displaying anxiety and should trial again the medications that didn't work in the past.
Waste of well over 1k that was.

Downright decent bloke. Supported me through some very dark times, and provided a lot of very helpful information that gave me a grounding to find an easier way through life. Very thankful.
