Wonderful Specialist!!! After going through the emergency department and having two specialists and a MRI examine me they misdiagnosed my eye tumor as having a headache from chiropractic work done. Sent me home with aspirin RX and said not to go back for treatment to chiropractor. Not only did they completely miss what was very visible on MRI- a tumor in my eye 1 inch big. I did not feel the diagnosis was correct. Coming to Dr. Filaferro ( my eye specialist) he knew right away that it was not normal and took care of me beyond words. VERY greateful for his expertise and kindness. Highly reccomend this Specialist. His staff as well with the busy schedule always have been kind and caring. So grateful! Thank you!!!

This is the worst doctor I've ever had. As others noted, he is pathologically late, to the point where I was told by his receptionist that even if I take the first appointment of the day, he'll still show up 45 minutes late. If you have so much trouble starting your day, just change your office hours to reflect a schedule that works for you. The final straw was when I booked an appointment a year ahead, only to find out the day before that he moved offices and nobody from his office even bothered to notify me. I had to call there to confirm my appointment to find this out. I don't know if there's something going on in his personal life, because reading comments below I'm seeing he's done the same thing to others, but whatever the reason this doctor needs to sort himself out and stop practicing until he can get his act together and give patients who wait months to see him the care and respect they deserve.

I drove my 87 year old mother who is seriously limited by mobility issues to her 9am appointment downtown at First Edmonton Place. Imagine my surprise when we were advised that this physician is no longer at the clinic. I spoke with the receptionist who was very apologetic (it wasn't her fault) and noted that Dr. Filaferro should have contacted my mother advising of the change.. At no time did my mother receive written correspondence notifying of change in office location, nor did she receive a phone call advising of the change in the physician's office location prior to the appointment. It was also clear that she is not the only patient that had experienced a similar situation. This incident cost me a half day of work, gas and parking expenses in downtown Edmonton. It was fine as I ended up spending a nice couple of hours with my mother and i have he flexibility to be able to re-book at a later date. But what if she was actually having issues with her eyes and that was the reason for the appointment. I also have to wonder how others navigated this given that a large component of his clientele are elderly, may be concerned about driving downtown alone and finding parking, etc. To make arrangements for such an appointment and then show up to find the physician has moved would be incredibly frustrating and cause a decent amount of distress to this subsection of patients. Further, I have to ask that if the clinician and his office staff are not organized/prepared enough to navigate what should be a relative straightforward operational or business change, how can one think they would be able to carry our other, more complex activities. It is quite clear that this clinician has little respect for his patient cohort overall (which appears to also be borne out by some of the reviews below) So disappointed.

Always late for appointments; waiting at least a hour for less than 5 min of his time. Did not answer questions. Always in a rush. Very bad “bed side manners”. I changed doctors.

Very very unhappy with my visit today. When I checked in with reception I was asked for all my concerns. I said my main concern was no sight in my right eye in very dark conditions, then reception asked of any other issues. I said pain behind my eye that's minor and driving at night vision not great but not worried about that. It was the no sight that concerns me. Told to take a seat. my appointment was at 1:30pm.... waited an hour and a half to see the doctor! Didn't see him until 3:00pm and he was with me for 4 mins!!!!
He walked in, told me about my eye pain ("headache not an eye issue") then was told "bad night vision.... common at your age". I'M 52 years old!!!! Told him I wasn't concerned about my driving night vision or pains, concerned about my lack of sight in my right eye..... he said...."Normal" he could tell I was VERY unhappy so he looked in my eyes sent me out the the room for another "Test" and that was the last I saw of him.
What an unprofessional, rude Man! Can't call him a doctor because he literally didn't act like one today. No interest in me and my issues at all. Wonder how much charges Alberta health care for 4 mins work...... I have a call and complaint into the College of Physicians and Surgeons because this Man is a horrible Doctor!!!! To bad I can't indicate my rating as a -10

A new technician performed my tests. She doesn't know to work the machine yet no one is here training her. She keeps having to leave the room to get help from another tech but they answer theonequestion and then leaves. As for the doctor he had no interest in answering any questions the last few visits. It's now been 2 hours and I'm still waiting to see him. How do you fall 2 hours behind for a9:45am appointment? Perhaps you're over booking trying too squeeze out every dollar.

I was very disappointed by this doctor visit. I was examined mainly by the technician at his clinic, after dilating my pupils he spent total of 7 mints with me.Did not bother to ask me about my complaint or my eye problem. Just looked in my by the slit lamp, told me every thing was fine. did not want to answer my questions, did not bother to give me any medication even for my eye pain. told me every thing will improve by time. As a physician myself I can't trust he was able to diagnose my problem correctly. Will ask my family physician to resend me to another ophthalmologist. Total waste of time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was sent to him by optometrist because of sudden loss of vision in my one eye. Told me it was dry eye. It not get better. Went to other doctor who knew within 30 seconds that it was a detached retina. Delayed my surgery by 4 months and worsened my condition.
