An absolutely incredible doctor! Dr. Newton went above and beyond for my family and I and we're truly grateful for his care and knowledge. Dr. Newton is intelligent and also extremely caring which makes any medical emergency a lot less stressful. I can't stress enough, Dr. Newton deserves an award for the care he gives his patients and for his diligence. Thank you Dr. Newton!

Dr. Newton is one of the best doctors I have even seen. I went to the UBC Urgent Care and met him twice a year part, amazingly he recognized me. The infection in my nose this time, which bothered me a lot has gone after his painful treatment :). Here I would like to thank him for his great excellent work.

Horrible doctor. I came in with a wrist injury. After waiting in UBC urgent care for 5+ hours, I finally saw him and he asked me if I was having a heart attack or if I had a broken leg. I was confused but told him no, to which he responded that he couldn't help me then. He asked why I didn't go to a family doctor and when I told him that, as an international student, I didn't have one, he reiterated that there was nothing he could do for me. I started to tear up and, I guess feeling bad, he wrote me a prescription for an anti-inflammatory. That I ended up being allergic to. In the process, he ended up revealing that he specifically specializes in the exact injury I have, so I am dumbfounded to this day as to why he couldn't sufficiently examine me or give medical advice. Six months later and my injury is still unresolved and I am now seeking medical treatment elsewhere.

This doctor is mean, unthorough, lazy, and inpolite. He made me feel unsupported and not worth treating. He should really have his status evaluated.

Continually went the extra mile to help throughout a long evening, very practical intelligence combined with personal care.

this lump of a doctor needs to find a new profession. I went to UBC urgent care because my groin pain I have been dealing with for over a year was getting worse. I have barely slept in 5 days.
I explained my symptoms to a 4th year medical student on behalf of a doctor and after some time the doctor joined the student. The conversation included the following :

Doctor “Why don’t you just go to your family doctor?” This was 8:00 am I had left my house at 6:30am to travel by bus to UBC.

Doctor “have you been shooting up?” Me “pardon me?”
Doctor “injecting yourself with needles.” Me “no.”

Doctor “do you hear voices in your head?” Me “excuse me.”
Doctor “do you hear voices telling you to do violent things?” Me “no.”

Doctor “I am unable to help you because you have a complicated history.” Me “can you explain?”
Doctor “you have had a lot of tests with different doctors.”

He told me that a recent ultrasound had was of no significance and sent me out the door.
Sadly my dad raised me not to show my emotions but when I walked to the bus loop I broke down in tears.

Now 5 days later I get a phone call from a different doctor and that “insignificant” ultrasound Dr. Newton boasted about... well I have a tumour on my nerve. Vancouver Coastal Health if your listening its time to open those eyes.

Condescending and rude. Dr Newton brushed off my concerns and sent me home. Creepy smile, poor bedside manner.
