The "information " that the patient presented in Nov.4/22 note is totally false . Dr. Dr.Helen and Dr. Craig ALWAYS do a full evaluation of all patient health information, anxiety level, especially in detail for those needing ANY FORM of sedation. This is done IN PERSON with the dentists themselves and the patient! Copies of pre-op and post_tx care are always given in writing. as well. Nitrous sedation does NOT usually require an escort home once the procedure is complete, and the return to the pre-treatment physiological levels are attained (may take a variable length of time for this to happen) Patients are told of this verbally and in writing at the visit prior to treatment. As well, Dr. Helen ALWAYS speaks to any family members/parents/escorts before AND after dental care..and she has done this for many decades. If anyone requires a phone call, this is also carried out by Dr. Helen herself. The primary focus of the practice is to EDUCATE the patient regarding treatment options, how to PREVENT dental diseases, and how to carry out proper nutrition, and be aware of overall health issues. Also, any sedation medication is NEVER requested to be given to a patient, unattended by the dentist, at the patient's home! This has never been done at the Williams Dental Office. However, pre_tx use of an anti-inflammatory(Advil/Motrin for example) OR Tylenol at home 1 to 4 hours beforehand IS a possible recommendation for adults AND children. Post-op discomfort is thus markedly reduced, as is any jaw or muscle tenderness. Hopefully this note will clarify the erroneous information given elsewhere in other postings.

Avoid this entire practice. Many years ago My Toronto dentist recommended Helen Williams when I moved to Barrie but was very clear I should avoid Craig Williams. A few months after moving a tooth started to bother me. I called stating I had been referred to Helen and wanted an apt with Helen. I was very clear. They told me I had to wait 6 weeks for a new patient appointment which I did. When I arrived they told me my appointment was with Craig. I corrected them but they told me Helen was not taking new patients at that time. They did not tell me that when I first called. They just stuck me with Craig. This Deception was my first red flag. My tooth had gotten worse while waiting so I saw Craig. He told me if I had waited any longer I would have needed a root canal. I booked a follow up for a filing. When I arrived the dental assistant said “ so your here for a root canal.” I said no Dr. Craig said if I waited any longer I would have needed one but was here for a filing. Then Craig arrived and said he and Helen review all the cases \ X-rays together and they ( obviously she ) decided I needed a root canal but they failed to call me at home and inform me of this change. 2nd red flag. Desperate for relief I had the root canal done. Then I was switched to Helen. My entire family went to her and at first my husband and I both liked her. My son started going early so he wouldn’t be afraid. Around age 6 or 7 he went in for a checkup while I waited in the waiting room. Dr. Helen never spoke to me but when I went to pay, the receptionist told me my son needed a filing and handed me some paperwork and gave us a follow up apt. Reading The paper work at home it said to give my son an oral medication an hour before his filing apt. I looked it up on line and it was an adult dosage. I called the office and questioned the dose as my small son weighed 1/3 of an adults weight. I waited for Helen to call me back and explain the sedation but instead the receptionist called and said my son had been discharged from the practice and would have to go to a paediatric dentist which we did and never had an issue with his entire childhood. I took it upon myself to discharged our entire family from the practice. Any physician that refuses to speak to you about your child’s care has a problem. This was a 3 rd giant red flag to me. I guess it’s just all about the money for them. 3 strikes and your out!

Found out I had 100% coverage under my dental plan and proceeded to tell me I needed 7 fillings. I never went back. Returned to my original dentist in Mississauga and never needed a single filling. My boyfriend was also a patient there until they used the nitrous and then sent him home on his own. Extremely dangerous, unprofessional, and I should've reported him the the college immediately.

Dr. Craig knows dentistry and does a fine job but there’s no professionalism. Once he fixed a wrong tooth and he just took out the old filling and put a new one in. And I am okay with that part. I have no insurance and charges at the top of the scale including this constant examination charges. Four days later I come back with the same tooth sensitivity as before. He takes five minutes and rubs sensodyne on my tooth and charges me $135.00. Examination charges and a blob of toothpaste. Really? I haven’t been back. He also discusses other patients’ procedures in front of you. He talks about you with the assistant in front of you but will rarely actually talk to you. I found that belittling.

I am saddened to have to leave this comment as My children and I have gone to Dr. Craig for years. As my daughters grew older it became apparent that bizarre comments around race started to emerge at each apt. What has really pushed us leave was an incident with my 18 year old daughter looking to get advice from Dr Craig on a potential jaw surgery. My daughters are biracial and he informed my 18 year old that she should have the jaw surgery. He proceeded to tell her that African models have this surgery to create a more Caucasian jaw line and therefore be more aesthetically pleasing, he added that he himself prefers that look as well. This is so highly riddled with racism. Doctor Craig needs to understand the level of racism that it would take to think like this let alone say it to a BIPOC person is Completely unacceptable. I have now moved onto another dentist.

Way back in 1990, I moved to Barrie from Toronto and asked my Toronto dentist to recommend one in Barrie so I went to Dr. Williams. First there were patients in reception upset with their invoices, when I told him I liked dogs, he said he’d like to kill them and he told me I needed a root canal. Well it’s 2020 now and I’ve never had a root canal. I never went back and returned to my Toronto dentist. This is one strange dude. Be careful.

Most unprofessional dentist I have ever been too. Made fun of my illness and medications I was on. Made fun of my teeth and made rude and stupid jokes about everyone! He can do good work but he is so ignorant and extremely expensive, he will bleed both your wallet and benefit plan dry on one visit! Go elsewhere!

Great Dentist and clinic. I and my family have been going for 28 years. I have had many complex procedures always with close to zero discomfort. I have complete faith and trust in he and his staff.

I have been going to Dr. Craig Williams for the past 38 years since he started practicing in Barrie. In my opinion, he is a fabulous dentist in all aspects. He is professional, attentive to my needs as a very nervous patient and provides top quality dental care. I've had wisdom teeth removed in the chair, root canals, fillings and crowns and have always been impressed with the quality of care he provides. I would certainly take issue with the poor comments on this site and would not hesitate to refer friends and colleagues to either Dr. Craig or Dr. Helen. They are top professionals in my book!

This was the most unprofessional dental visit i've ever had. He made me uncomfortable, mocked my faith; he was condescending and made me very uncomfortable. I could hear staff gossip taking place. He may be a decent dentist, but I'll never go back to find out.
