Smart, but arrogant and dismissive. My mother's symptoms re-presented shortly after surgery but Dr Judy dismissed them. her tumor grew back, even larger and inoperable.

Dr. Judy was excellent. He explained everything thoroughly and accurately. The procedure went well as did the recovery. He came in to see me every day at the hospital as did his assistant. TJH staff was also excellent. He encouraged me to clean the area well almost immediately and gave me tips for preventing problems. I never had trouble scheduling an appointment and he called me back when I had questions. Alicia was also excellent! I encourage anyone in need of a neurosurgeon to see Dr. Judy.

Dr. Judy removed a rare benign tumor from my brain stem back in 2003 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). His knowledge and skill are top notch and the rest of the staff at HUP were excellent. I have had several years of follow up visits with him. He is a surgeon who is very much in-demand, so you will wait to see him (I have ALWAYS been pre-warned about the wait and to come prepared with reading material); however, when you are in your consult with him, you have Dr. Judy's undivided attention. I was unsure about his bedside manner before surgery, but afterwards, he warmed up. I think I neglected to realize that this man deals with end-stage brain tumor patients and provides them with a high quality of life before they pass, so he does not want to give false hope. I have built a rapport with him over the years and I thank him every time for his knowledge, skill, and confidence in operating on my tumor. A+ in my book. He's now at Jefferson University Hospital.

Dr. Judy surgically removed my brain tumor with minimal deficiencies, however when it grew back, he neglected to inform me of this vital news. When he finally brought it to my attention, it had grown back larger than the first tumor. For years, I trusted him with my life and to be forthcoming. After learning that he chose not to communicate this information to me, I will never forgive him for this.

My experience was shocking arrived to office to find they didnt even know I had an appointment. The staff took my insurance information plus my doctor sending me there sent copies of it. I waited 45 mins for doctor to show up only to get no exam and find no information on my reason for visit he is a very cold quiet man you have to pry information out of him I would not ever send anyone to him. Total waste of time went for shunt evaluation came back with his feeling of a hernia in which he did no exam and nothing on neurological reasons I was sent there. If you plan to go see this doctor have a list of questions prepared and also check several times your actually scheduled for an appointment do go through what I did.

The man is amazing. Totally saved my life back in 2002. He diagnosed me with a 3rd stage malignant tumor in my right frontal lobe, operated on me, set me up with the best chemo and radiation available and I am still alive today. It was an anaplastic oligoastrocytoma that was the size of a child's fist. I am not supposed to be here today. I am extremely grateful for this brilliant, funny, compassionate man's existence. If my child got sick and needed a neurosurgeon, there would be no other choice. Travel if you must......but choose Dr. Kevin Judy if you are looking for the best neurosurgeon. My name is Laureen Gibeau and I am 47 now! Thank you, Dr. Judy! xoxo

The maximum of 1000 characters will limit me too all the great things that I can say about this man. He is superior to any and all other Nerosurgeons I met, (or who had previously operated on me) in searching for a Dr. to perform my 2nd Craniopharyngioma surgery. Dr. Judy was always honest, right from the start about the options I had, and the difficulty of this type of surgery. He did not rush me into surgery,he monitored my tumor growth for six months before recommending surgery. He performed my last surgery a little over 5yrs. ago and I have been brain tumor free since. I still see him on a annual basis, and actually look forward to my consultation so we can chat and catch up. I strongly RECOMMEND DR. Judy. His honesty, integrity, and bedside manner will make all the difference in your care and no matter the outcome you can rest assured you went with the best. The University Of Penn experience is just all around a great experience with caring Doctors, Nurses, and Support Staff.

my brother was 18yrs old when he went ot dr. Judy for a brain tumor that was fund during an MRI due to his constant seizures. ALthough Dr. Judy is just to the point his knowledge and his skills make up for his lack of bedside manner. I would say one of the best Neurosurgeons around.

As a 22 year old I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in my brain. Naturally I was scared and nervous and desperately seeking answers. I went to see Dr. Judy and found him to he abrupt and seemingly unapathetic. After that first meeting I was no more self assured than before. Although I did leave that meeting with a belief that he could safely get me through the surgery. I went with Dr Judy and three months after having the tumor removed I am happy to say that nothing could have gone smoother. I strongly encourage anyone needing a brain or spine operation to go with Dr Judy. After my experiences with him, I would suggest him to any of my friends or family.
