Dr Donnelly has been my cardiologist for over 5 years following an episode of PE. I found her to be thorough in her examination of me, straight talking about lifestyle choices I would need to consider. This Dr is top shelf in her knowledge and care of her patients. If you want Lovey Dovey better find someone less competent. I choose competence and real care over the latter. I only trust Elizabeth Donnelly when it comes to my heart. Turns out 5 years later my heart is better than what it was originally, so I am grateful for her care and advice no hugs needed!

Dr Donnelly was excellent and very professional with my treatment and with my diagnosis when I came down ill with chest pain. Her thorough investigation into my complaint acknowledged my medical condition, and I am very grateful to her for following through with preventable medication to keep my heart and arteries strong and healthy. I am very thankful that Dr Donnelly was my cardiologist when the chest pain started, and continues to be.

I found Dr Donnelly condescending, cold and do not want to see her again. Her bedside manner was utterly undesirable. If you want patients to engage with your instructions her manner will need to change.

Dr Donnolly performed a stress test with me. Her explanations of the procedure were adequate. I found her bedside manner to be generally flippant and condescending, which was disappointing given the serious nature and associated anxiety related to the medical assessment. I left the appointment feeling very frustrated by Dr Donnelly's inability to read and acknowledge me in a polite, non-condescending manner.

After a many testings including a stress echo, I was diagnosed with SVT. I was given three options to treat. 1. Manoeuvres, 2. Medication (side effects, low blood pressure, no motivation, low energy etc) 3. Ablation
I have naturally low blood pressure and was not keen on taking the medication due to the side effects. Several months later on a follow up appointment I informed Dr Donnelly that my SVT was not as bad and I was controlling it with option 1, further I expressed my concern about the medication. She then advised that I should have an ablation and referred me to another specialist. She also requested to do another stress echo (I had done one 6 months previous). Several days later I received a call from another specialist booking me into Hospital for an ablation, this was without a consultation with the surgeon Dr. I was taken back by this and made a few inquiries with another cardiologist. I had a second opinion and was told that the medication prescribed was wrong and that I only needed a blocker. As for being booked in for an ablation, my current specialist advised that there would be no way unless it was an emergency and even then that I would I need an ablation.
Dr Donnelly has a terrible bedside manner, and whilst she got my diagnosis correct, that was the only thing she got right. If I didn’t have a second opinion, I would have had at least 1 unnecessary ablation and have suffered horrible side effects because of the incorrect medication she prescribed.
Her priority, making money and not paying attention to the patient in detail.

used scare tactics to push me to do an angiogram, she said if I didn't I would have a heart attack. Looking at the scans she said blockage was on the right. this was incorrect, turned out it was the left.she gave me medication which I suffered side effects from, when dr called her she didn't instruct I stop them even though I was admitted to emergency room for the side effects.

I have required the services of cardiologists for the past 40 years and lived around the world during that time, being hospitalised at least once a year for some cardiac complication or another. I have lost count of the cardiologists I have had but it is definitely higher than 30. I came across Liz Donnelly around 2005 and wouldn't change her for the world. She is genuine, extremely professional, exudes confidence and competence, has a no-nonsense yet friendly approach and is incredibly organised. By that last comment I mean she sees the patient as a whole person and does just focus on the heart. Liz deserves a 10 star rating in my opinion and I wont be changing doctors ever again.
