I have been going to Dr Azar for about a year. I find him to be very thorough and competent. I have recommended him to three friends who all are very pleased with him as well. Not only has he helped me to feel better and improve my health but he is also pleasant and funny and you feel like you are visiting a friend. Both he and DrYao are also very knowledgable about nutrition. His staff is wonderful, helpful and efficient.

I've been a patient of Dr. Azar's for about a year after a referral from a coworker. Everyone in my office goes to see him. He is genuinely kind, caring, sympathetic and treats you like a human being. Combined with the fact that he sits down and takes time to explain things and is funny as hell, and actually knows A LOT of stuff (I think he used to be in research) I simply haven't found a better doctor. I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat.

I have been a patient of Dr. Azar's for over 10 years and would not switch him for anyone in the world. I have even paid out of pocket without insurance to see him. The man is as kind, professional and caring as you'd ever want in a doctor. I trust him implicitly. The office gets alot of traffic, there will always be a wait, plan at least an hr wait. And yes the bathrm is unappetizing but that is not managed by his office, so bring hand sanitizer.

Dr. Azar is the best, never rushes, always takes the time to listen. Has a heart to heart talk with his patients, really attentive. Staff is so-so, less professional than should be, but Dr. Azar is great. That's why his patients keep going back. PA Yao is great too, very knowledgeable and helpful. PA Billy a big flirt and thumbs down.

Dr Azar is great! Personable, knowledgeable and easy to talk with. His appointments are rarely on time, but I believe this is because he never rushes the patients out to see the next one. He takes the time to answer all your questions and address your concerns. The office itself is below average, but don't let this deter you. Dr Azar is a quality primary care physician.

Dr.Azar and his staff have been a great support to me this year. The office is busy and crowded but they are always friendly. Dr. Azar is knowledgeable, thorough, and is the only doctor I have had with a truly open mind. The staff is cheerful, responsive and responsible.

I went last year after seeing some good reviews here. It was a busy office. Long wait. Some of the front desk lady was very helpful. But some of them were quite unhelpful. I can understand that. Not too many people perform well in a super busy doctor office. Phone calls to them were often being OKed away. The office recommended me on buying their supplements every visit I went. Vitamins, Omega-3, or something good for bones. They got them all. lab tests took long time. And they didn't call me untill I called and asked about lab results.

I only tried to call and get an appointment but was told he was "fully booked" but I could come in and get seen in between his other appointments. I have insurance (Magnacare) and pointed out that if he is fully booked, he doesn't have time to see other patients, but they didn't seem to understand the distinction. This is why people end up using the ER as their primary care.

I've had two appointments with Dr. Azar (physical and blood test, then a follow-up), and he is incredibly personable and has an amazing sense of humor reminiscent of Lewis Black. The wait time was only about 10 minutes each time, and he put me at ease immediately. The blood test was incredibly thorough (included every test including allergies, HIV, etc.), and we even had a friendly chat after our appointment for a bit. That said, the office is really a dump. It's in a office/mall-like building in Chinatown, and most of the patients are elderly non-English speakers. The staff is really loud and cackle to each other in Chinese, though they do get the job done. The in-office restroom seemed to be broken when I went, so for a urine sample I had to take a giant key outside into the shared hallway into a disgusting bathroom with no soap and garbage all over, then carry over the filled sample cup back to the office. So embarrassing. Still, I'll admit I'd return for the doc. He's great!

After waiting 45 mintues, only 2 other patients in dirty waiting room, was told that they hadn't gotten through to my insurance co. and no telling how much longer until I would see the doctor. When I asked to reschedule for the first appointment on another day, when they would have time to call my insurance company prior, so I wouldn't have to wait, I was told that the doctor was frequently busy, and there would always be a wait. And that they would never check my insurance until I was actually there. I left, and if other people would do the same, these doctors would shape up.
