Made my daughter, who has been suffering with chronic pain for years, cry with his rude and dismissive attitude, belittled me and was generally antagonistic. I see others fared much better and that's great, but the only help he gave my child was a referral to another orthopedic surgeon who, thankfully, was actually helpful.

As of a month ago, I am five years post-op with Dr Orlik. Spinal fusion for idiopathic scoliosis from T4 to L1. 57 degree curve going into it. I was 13 at the time, and always felt that he sincerely tried to be as informative as he was reassuring. He and his team did fantastic work; no complications this far out, swift recovery, and a skeleton that looks pretty convincingly symmetrical while also holding up against all forms of physical activity. He is a very talented doctor, and his nurse, Amanda, deserves much praise of her own.

Today my 12 year old daughter was told that her Scoliosis would need surgery and whilst we are so nervous about this - I must admit Dr Orlik gave us so much comfort and was patient as we asked him so many questions. He was empathetic and so very professional and gave us all the answers we needed at that time. We came out of our appointment feeling comfortable that she will be in very good hands. Dr Orlik is one of my sons dr/surgeons and words can not express how helpful, pleasant, informative him and his team are. He is a truly amazing Dr and leader of his team. I feel he always talks to the patient and parents with the up most respect, never rushes our questions and always there for follow up when and if needed. Great dr. Dr Ben is amazing, I could not imagine anyone else doing my sons back surgery . He seen him and the next mth pre op was done and surgery Amazing man so caring

A true professional....warm hearted, kind and extremely knowledgeable.
His nurse Amanda is just as wonderful. At our very first visit, they were supportive, informative and encouraged us to call with any questions or concerns.
Amazing staff that put our 14 year old at ease and explained things at his level.

My 12 year old son was diagnosed with double Idiopathic Juvenile Spinal Scolisosis in 2014. Between the Halifax Rehabilitation Centre and the IWK Childrens Hospital communication and remedy was monitored in a very professional manner. Each time Dr Orlik went through my sons prognosis upto his eventual surgery. He was there before and after the operation and carried out the best procedure for him. His is a great person and very open to discussion. My son trusted him and in turn as it turns out Benjamin had every positive avenue covered in his recovery. A fantastic guy!

Waited 6 months to see him, spent maybe 10 minutes with him. He was friendly. Had a follow up appointment that was to be scheduled months later, we are now at the year mark. God forbid you talk to the staff about the delay. They were not helpful, they were dismissive and rude. I can't give a fair assessment of the Doctor having spent such little time with him. Meanwhile I'm watching the massive hump on my child's back continue to grow. Sounds like Dr. Orlik is great we just can't get past his gate keepers.
