I am a VBAC x 2. I had my first baby in the hospital and they basically set me up to have a cesarean. So, with baby # 2 I knew I wanted a different, more relaxed, home birth. Maeve believed in me, my baby, and our ability to birth naturally. We had a wonderful home birth with Maeve. So much so with baby #3 we went back to Maeve as our midwife and had another home birth in our birthing pool. She is caring and informative, encouraging and understanding. Yes, she is late to some appointments but she never rushes her patients and listens to every question or concern so you know you are getting her full undivided attention. She is good at letting you know when she is running late. We love her and she is a blessing.

Maeve has been so nurturing and attentive to me as a client. She’s been thorough, compassionate, supportive, comforting, available, and full of wisdom. She’s taken my medical history into consideration for all decisions. She’s been a wealth of knowledge, resources, and support. Her guidance, knowledge and compassion has meant the world to me and my family. She’s truly cared for my whole family in our journey. She has advocated for us and empowered us in our decisions. She’s a truly, lovely human and we’re so thankful to be in her care.

I have only had 1 baby, out of 4 through a midwife. I also have one on the way through Jenee.

She is a great midwife, and cares so much about about her patients! I’m so glad that we chose her for 2 of our births!

Everything has been better than I expected, and gone above and beyond my expectations! I was skeptical of home births, and all that. She has made everything work our wonderfully, and exactly what we wanted!

If I ever have to refer anyone to a midwife, I will refer Jenee! She is top notch, and has been everything I’ve hoped, expected, and wanted for our births, and much much more!

After the birth of my first son at a birthing center, I knew I needed a more personal level of care the next time. I have a fear of anything medical so I was determined to have a home birth with my second son. My husband and I met with Maeve to see what her prenatal and postnatal care was like. From the first visit, we were impressed with how kind, knowledgeable, and caring she was. She was confident in my ability to have a natural, at home birth. Not only did Maeve make sure I was physically healthy, she made sure I was emotionally healthy. In between prenatal appointments, I would receive texts saying how she was praying for me and asking how I was feeling. She was able to communicate any concerns she had with tact and kindness and never pushed anything I wasn't comfortable with. When it came closer to my son's birth, she reminded me how confident she was in my ability to have a happy, healthy birth. She was in tune with my every need as I labored and after my son's birth. I could not have asked for a better midwife to be there or a more beautiful birth. Unfortunately, I had to go to ER a few days after because of complications of the birth. I was terrified and confused but Maeve was able to help my husband and I navigate through the whole, ugly process. She recommended a doctor she trusted, came to visit me after the procedure to make sure I was alright, and even helped us with insurance troubles. Her postpartum care was just as stunning as her prenatal care. She continues to check in on me, to this day. She will definitely be my midwife for my next baby! I cannot thank her enough for a such a wonderful experience for me and my family.

Maeve has walked with me through multiple pregnancies. She sat by my side in the ER after my first one ended in a miscarriage. She tirelessly offered me support, encouragement, and compassion during the very emotionally difficult time that followed. She answered my call in the middle of the night when I learned I was likely miscarrying yet another time - listening and comforting as I cried. And, later, she reassured me and answered my many questions as I navigated my way through two healthy pregnancies. Her vast knowledge and experience coupled with her warmth and humor makes her an ideal midwife. And she is wonderful at births! She is adept at adjusting to the needs of the mother and the energy in the room. She is steady and calm when things get tough - a kind, firm voice reminding you that you can do it.... For me - she is the perfect midwife.

When I decided I wanted an out of hospital birth I knew I needed to find someone who believed in me, my body and my baby. I had interviewed a midwife before Jenee and she was cold and did not believe that I could VBAC outside of the hospital. When I met Jenee it was different she believed in me, my body, and my baby. She was knowledgeable and caring.
I loved going to my prenatal visits because it was a relaxed atmosphere with what felt no time restrictions. She took her time to get to know me and talk about a little bit of everything (which for me is perfect because this is someone who is about to deliver my baby).
During my birth she was positive and kept reminding me that I could do it. She stood by our side and helped us bring our 2nd baby into this world.

When we decided to look for a midwife with our first child, as soon as we interviewed Jenee, my husband and I both knew she was the right one for us. Coming from a medical background, I had high expectations. Jenee has not only met those expectations, but has far exceeded them. Jenee is dedicated, caring, very knowledgable and shows a true passion for her work. She provides many resources each step of the way, and is able to provide a holistic approach to not only pregnancy and labor, but through postpartum. A true testimate to her expertise is how she handled my first delivery at the birthing center. After a seemingly uncomplicated delivery, I hemorrhaged with significant blood loss. Despite the seriousness of my situation, Jenee was able to get me through it without needing to be transferred to the hospital or requiring further medical intervention. Then my daughter ended up having significant latch issues and lost weight in that precious time when newborns are supposed to be gaining. She was able to guide us through that scary time and knew all the right resources to ensure the wellbeing of my daughter who then went on to breastfeed for 2 years. She is such a blessing to our family. We didn’t even hesitate for one moment to seek her out when we found out we were pregnant again and are looking forward to having her guide us through our home birth soon!

I am the husband of a strong and independent woman who told me not too long before conceiving that she wanted to do an all-natural birth. My first instinct was to question if this was wise given that “everyone does it in a hospital because it is safer.” My wife with her doctorate education and medical background presented me with tons of information to refute this notion. But the key ingredient for me was the WHO. Who was going to be OUR midwife and would she be all the things we needed and even did not know we needed. I can honestly say without any doubt in my heart and mind that Jenee Orhvall is one of the finest individuals I have the pleasure of knowing and a darn good Midwife. She is kind and gentle 100% of the time but can be firm and direct as needed for the benefit of momma and the baby to be. She knows how to communicate and address concerns and as much as my wife is research based in her decisions, Jenee offered yet more relevant research to allow us as a family to have the all the information we need to make the right decisions for our family.
As a testament to Jenee and how much we appreciate her and how she handles herself not just with my wife and the birth but me the husband, we without question decided to go to her again for our next child. He will be here mid-May of 2017 and we are so excited. Jenee knows our history and quirks from the first pregnancy and birth and she reminds us how to address them for another successful and awe-inspiring experience that will be baby number two.
Thank you Jenee for all you do. I would come to you for a third time but I am pretty sure two is plenty for us.

Jenee was our midwife for our home birth and we are so thankful for her expertise! What I loved about her is that with every appointment I felt very comfortable, never rushed, which I knew I would have experienced at a hospital. When my water broke Jenee stayed up late in the night to continually check up. I went into active labor the next day and she quickly rushed over and checked my dilation multiple times to see how I was progressing. She is perfect at what she does, I felt very comfortable, encouraged, and at ease the entire time, and this was my first baby! I am very thankful to have had a home birth and recommend Jenee if you are looking for a midwife either in your home or a birthing center.

My husband and I found Jenee in October of 2015, we had just found out we were pregnant and were very sure we wanted a midwife. She was the first one we called and met with, we intended to meet with several before deciding on one but she gave us both such a good feeling that we knew we had found the midwife that was right for us. Unfortunately shortly afterward we lost our baby. She was so kind and compassionate through everything, she helped me get through not just the physical side but much of the emotional aspect as well, and when we got pregnant again on fall of 2016 we knew that we wanted her taking care of us. She has held my hand through all my anxiety, answered texts and calls night and day, and made me feel safe and confident through this whole process. We will have our son next month, and I know he will be in great hands as he makes his way into the world with Jenee helping us. She is a wonderful, compassionate and kind person that is truly called to this field, I couldn't imagine having anyone else guide me through this journey.
