VERY unprofessional. Very creepy and EXTREMELY arrogant!

Too many times I have had to leave without seeing him even though he was down the hall and around the corner chit chatting and laughing with a nurse. No regard for patients time. Had an appointment at 10am, drove an hour to get there, only to have to leave at 2:30 to get home in time to pick up my kid from school(grade 2). And still has the audacity to ask us to stay as he sees us leaving. Staff are tired of apologizing for his lateness and have stopped altogether, apologizing instead for wasting the patient's time. Love the nurses, hate the dr.

Excellent Dr. ...To the point, and very direct in his assessment. I have seen him for over 16 years and respect his opinion tremendously. He is also a strong advocate for continuous improvement of health care facilities and programs for Central Alberta.

Dr. Jim was fabulous when our loved one was receiving care in RDRH. He listened to concerns and was willing to discuss the care being provided. He also helped convince our family member that he was not ready to go home, that he should wait and see how treatment progressed before going home, this proved beneficial as our family member got worse before better. Dr. Jim was always willing to hear our concerns and tried to address them. Thank you Dr. Jim!

Does not listen to patients concerns. Groups all patients in one group and not off individual needs.

I felt like he rushed me out the door. He spent the 1st portion of my appointment on the phone. I felt like he didn't want to take the time to investigate my circumstances. I'll be asking for a referral for another nephrologist.

Dr Jim is such an intelligent man and Red Deer is lucky to have such a dedicated nephrologist. He may not have the charasmatic personality that people want but what he lacks in charisma, he more than makes up for in brilliance. He can only spend a few minutes with each patient because he is working long hours to serve many, many people. Don't let his 'standoffish' demenor fool you, he is very caring and remembers WAY more about you than he'll admit to.
