During the morning of Friday, June 3rd I was hesitant to go to the ER as I thought I was being a wimp with only mild abdominal pain. However, as it turned out, I am glad I did! I was diagnosed with mild diverticulitis and without the FANTASTIC care and concern shown by Dr. Picciotti and his entire team, I may merely have been sent home and told to suck it up buttercup. Dr. Picciotti and his staff spent ample time with me and he made the decision to have a CT-Scan which revealed the issue. Dr. Picciotti then proceeded to effectively explain (in laymen's terms) what I needed to do and the plan of action required in order to combat my diagnosis. I didn't have any other symptoms so if Dr. Picciotti hadn’t ordered the CT-Scan, then I may have left undiagnosed. A BIG thank you goes out to Nurse Caroline and Wendy & Kelly as well as Billy. Lona and the CT-scan tech (forgot his name - went to Rutgers) were also fantastic and deserve recognition. Of course, I would have rather been at work then in the ER, but it was great to know that these individuals not only showed up to work yesterday but clearly take pride in their work and are nothing less than consummate professionals. Bravo to Everyone and Keep up The Great Work! You truly make a difference in people’s lives.

Took my husband to the ER (SOMC) on June 30, 2019.
He was having acute spells of full-body weakness, lightheadedness & his BP was spiking up a little high, *and down* very low.
Dr. Picciotti was the ER doctor.
He was rude, abrupt, dismissive and completely disinterested in our explanations about what was going on with my husband. We told him that we monitor my husband's bp at home when he's not feeling well. He completely ignored what I told him as far as the bp readings we were getting at home. (sometimes slightly high, but sometimes VERY low). After a chest x-ray and an EKG showed no issues, Dr. Picciotti discharged my husband with the diagnosis of "Unstable high blood pressure" and told him
TO DOUBLE HIS CURRENT BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICINE
& make an appointment with his regular doctor.
I knew that sounded wrong! So we didn't listen.
Husb. had to wait 10 days to get to see his dr. who then TOOK HIM OFF ALL BP MEDS, immediately!!
I am SO glad we ignored Picciotti's advice.

Having to go to the ER for pain complications from a surgery you are afraid that the doctors are going to look at you like you are seeking pain pills. I was terrified and in extreme pain. The nurse did not even finish taking my information before he came into the room to talk to me and figure out what was going on. I have unfortunately had my share of doctors and none compared to him. He walked out of the room and I was already being taking for tests. There was no waiting. He tried everything to relieve my pain and the nurse that worked with him was amazing too. He answered not only all my questions but my mothers as well. He even offered advice of what to do if his game plan did not work for me within a few days. I would love to have him as my doctor again if I needed to be seen in the ER. He was very knowledgeable and caring about his patients. He spoke clearly and did not dismiss any of our concerns. He even reached out to my surgeon who is two hours away via phone to make sure everyone was on the same page. I feel if I saw any other doctor I would of been given a pain pill and sent on my way. I am forever grateful for him.

Dr. Chris Picciotti treated me for back pain.. For the person who left the comment that they were not satisfied with Chris and that he is focused on his looks...well I am good looking also so it did not bother me that he focuses on the way he looks. Dr Picciotti did seem knowledgeable and he answered all my questions...He did help me a great deal... he did have an attitude that he was very sure of himself. But that is probably a good thing especially when you are a physician...I would recommend Chris as an ER doc.

Unprofessional and inexperienced. Instead of answering questions and reassuring his ER patients, he's too busy contemplating on his looks, and bragging about how he's the head doctor of all the residents in the ER. He did not make me feel like I was being medically treated at all and left his resident to do so. Even his resident was BETTER than him in terms of providing me information on an infection that I had and prescribing me medication for it. The ER is a place to HELP patients and save lives quickly and not use their time to find validation for your looks or your credentials.
