This is Kit . When I cleansed my stuffy left ear after swimming on Nov 23, 2022, I accidentally found sticky blood pouring down from the ear. I was extremely frightened and immediately went to the NYGH Emergency Dept for help. The doctor there said that my eardrum was perforated and needed to be seen by an ENT specialist in their hospital. She prescribed me antibiotic ear drops and sent me home to wait for the call from the ENT Dept to arrange an urgent appointment which I never receive until now!
I then booked an appointment to see my family doctor while I was waiting for the ENT appointment from NYGH. My family doctor Frank Kung is always very caring. He saw me in two days and said that my eardrum could have been half-punctured. Since I didn't receive any call from the hospital, he right away referred me to an ENT specialist on his own list, and this is Dr Marcarian! Although that was an urgent referral, Dr Kung still reminded me that it might take a month before I could see the doctor in person since the lining up was terrible these days.
Surprisingly, in another two days, the staff from Dr Marcarian called me in the morning and asked me if I could visit their clinic that afternoon since my referral was URGENT . I of course said yes! So, it's like miracle, I was able to see Dr Marcarian in less than a week! Dr Marcarian was punctual, gentle, friendly, caring and knowledgeable. He checked my ear carefully and suspected that my eardrum was still intact. He cleansed my ear with extra care and right away sent me to a quick hearing test by his audiologist. The result confirmed his judgement. My eardrum is intact! What actually happened was there was a scratch on the ear canal thus resulted in bleeding.
That speedy consultation by Dr Marcarian saved me from all the worries and anxiety which could have lingered on for month. I thank this doctor and his kind hearted staff from the bottom of my heart for their empathy to their patients.

I was constantly having nosebleeds (almost every other day) and Dr Marcarian performed a procedure (nasal cauterization) that effectively stopped it. My life has improved immensely. He is responsive, skilled and I am very happy to have him as my doctor.
