As a young BRCA2 carrier, I was very nervous to undergo surgery. As soon as I met Dr Tutino and Dr Hosein I was reassured. I had nipple preserving mastectomies with the implants placed immediately. I had virtually no pain post surgery. The results are absolutely outstanding and I am so grateful.

I recently underwent a mastectomy with implant reconstruction for breast cancer. Dr Tutino was compassionate and assuring. My incision was minimal and at no time did I feel as though I had a mastectomy. My recovery was easier and quicker than anticipated with minimal discomfort. In fact I did not require the prescribed pain medication. My family Dr was so pleased that he joked that Dr Tutino's work was such a masterpiece that I should expect requests for referrals from celebrities! It really is a great job. I am so grateful to Dr Tutino for his skill and would not hesitate to refer him or use him in the future should the need arise.

D. Tutino performed my reconstruction simultaneous to mastectomy due to breast cancer. I could not have been in better hands with my surgeons. During the information session, he was very detailed of the different procedures, the pros/cons, and what is the best procedure for different situations. After the procedure, I had some issue with swelling and although he went to great lengths to assure me that this is as expected, he still had me see him on a weekly follow up, and even on the weeks that he was on vacation, he had me call his secretary to provide updates. On retrospect, I think he knew full well that I was not going into complications, and had me come back for weekly follow ups more to ease my mind and assuage my worries and anxiety. On my 6-month and final visit at the ambulatory care, the nurse who came in first to check on me had to step back, asked me what procedure I had and had to back to the chart again. I saw her look of surprise , when she looked at my breasts, and she said, "You had a mastectomy." I said yes, and she smiled at me and said, that's was so beautifully done. I couldn't agree more. It was like not having done a reconstructions. And the best part, if that nurse who would have probably seen thousands of breast reconstructions had to step back after seeing my breast to make sure she was looking at the right surgery, is the best affirmation I can have that I was in excellent hands and medical care. Thank you again Dr. Tutino! God bless.

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Tutino last spring. Pre surgery I met with him. His confidence put me completely at ease. He is caring, compassionate and kind. Post surgery, I couldn’t be happier with the results and I am forever grateful :)

I was taken into the operating room at 6 pm after being left in the waiting room for hours without any information on the delay. At that point I was fasting for 24 hours, was tired, nervous, thirsty and hungry. The cosmetic procedure should have been postponed as it was too late at night. They took me in anyways. Dr. Tutino rushed through it and the very poor results speak for themselves.

Definitely NOT skilled at liposuction. I am left with botched thighs after liposuction. Not sure if he was rushed, tired, bored or just simply not knowledgeable, but the results are subpar. It will cost me twice the price to fix his awful work.
I wouldn't trust him or the clinic to perform additional work on me, especially after being told everything looked fine. Well, it's not fine and my thighs do not look normal anymore.

Fantastic surgeon. Took his time to ensure bone alignment was perfect. Explained the procedure as we worked through it.

Biography

"I received my M.D. in 2008. At that time, I moved from Hamilton to Toronto to begin my plastic and reconstructive surgery training. I completed my plastic surgery training in 2013 and was board certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada." "In 2013, I moved to Melbourne, Australia, where I did my fellowship in a practice that emphasized aesthetic and non-aesthetic breast and body surgery. Like most plastic surgeons, I was initially focused on reconstructive surgery." "As a surgeon, it is gratifying to offer post-breast cancer reconstruction and similar work. I still enjoy heartwarming satisfaction as I follow my patients through confidence-building journeys in cosmetic surgery. I watch the work I do improve the quality of life for my patients daily, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity." "A part of my fellowship in Melbourne involved microsurgery, sewing blood vessels that are 1.5-3mm in diameter using a microscope. Microsurgery training has directly translated into precision cosmetic surgery, allowing extremely subtle enhancements, minimizing tissue trauma, and speeding up recovery times for my patients." "After completing my fellowship, I entered the physiology program at McGill University. It’s a rigorous program, yet I received an award for the single highest GPA in sciences at McGill." It’s reassuring to know where your procedure will take place, and you’ll enjoy the convenience of recovery and all subsequent visits in one vast space. "Entering my eighth year of plastic surgery practice in Toronto, I’ve had over 12000 patients to date. I maintain an average of 200-300 breast surgeries per year." "Through my five years of residency in Toronto, I was fortunate enough to establish many relationships that grew valuable roots in the medical community. The field of plastic surgery is a relatively small one. I enjoy warm, mutually beneficial connections with colleagues in my field, and our patients benefit from shared knowledge, resources, and referrals." "I have held a faculty position at the University of Toronto since 2015. Since then, I’ve received a Trillium Health Partners teaching award given to a limited number of surgeons based on feedback from residents and medical students. At the prime of my career, I’m enthusiastic about teaching the skills I’ve acquired and mentoring the next generation of aspiring plastic surgeons in Toronto."
