Dr. Tutino changed my life. Both my hands were crippled by arthrithis and I had pain 24/7. Surgery was my only hope to fix things.
The process was made easier by the staff who were most helpful, and Dr. Tutino who explained the whole surgical process so that I might understand
Almost miraculously after the surgery the pain disappeared. I could now do all the things I had been unable to do including holding dishes and glasses without dropping them. I was not able to hold a pen to write.
Of course there are so many other daily things that improved too numerous to list.
Finally I felt normal and could do all the things I wanted. I cannot thank you enough for giving my life back!!

Dr. Tutino was incredibly attentive, listened to everything I shared with him, and was extremely knowledgeable. I felt safe and heard and I knew I'd be in good hands. Invaluable when building trust with someone who is going to perform surgery on you. His staff were very helpful in finding me a surgical date that met my urgent needs.

Dr. Tutino performed a skin graft to my head in order to remove a skin cancer. The procedure was performed and I drove home from Credit Valley hospital an hour after surgery. The follow up visits were done in a very caring way and he answered all my questions. I was so impressed with the results and would recommend him without reservation

Dr. Roberto Tutino's response
Thank you for your feedback. Secondary to patient confidentiality we cannot discuss specifics of cases. With Covid 19 the Province of Ontario suspended elective surgeries for a significant period of time. Furthermore urgent cancer cases were not being performed at the same volumes. As a result, our already long wait list has been significantly extended. While we do realize this is frustrating, we have to triage patients with active cancer and patients that have been waiting longer. During these trying times we have worked during nights, weekends and forgone holidays. At the onset of the pandemic we were operating in respirators not knowing the virulence of the virus. The system and our practice has been doing our absolute best to manage. Lastly, we pride ourselves on our availability. Phones are always answered Monday to Friday 9-4 except during lunch. We wish you the best with the next steps in your surgical journey and hope the backlog of cases can be cleared in Ontario in an expedited manner.

This was the only plastic surgeon who listened to my concerns and talked me out of surgery. I am so thankful I waited.

I had breast implants done at Verso in 2018. Dr T spent so much time sizing me. I visitwd other surgeons and the nurses all sized me different compared to Verso. Having the surgeon do the sizing was great. I am years out and I am so happy.

I have just completed my treatment for reconstruction plus a balancing augmentation with Dr Tutino following a unilateral mastectomy. As I'm sure you could imagine, this is not like a standard implant procedure. The skill and care taken to ensure I was happy with the results are so very much appreciated! I couldn't recommend Dr Tutino enough.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and was referred to Dr. Tutino for breast reconstruction. He was with me throughout my entire cancer journey. Dr. Tutino placed a tissue expander in my left breast after I had my mastectomy (first surgery) and would see him every 3 to 4 weeks to get a fill to expand my skin. I was also going through chemo at this time. He was a pleasant, caring, always made sure any of my concerns and questions were answered. Second surgery was to remove the tissue expander and replace both breasts with implants. I am so happy with the results he created a beautiful pair of breasts for me so thankful and happy with the results and I I feel good about myself again. Your in good hands with Dr. Tutino and I highly recommend him

Biography

"I received my M.D. in 2008. At that time, I moved from Hamilton to Toronto to begin my plastic and reconstructive surgery training. I completed my plastic surgery training in 2013 and was board certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada." "In 2013, I moved to Melbourne, Australia, where I did my fellowship in a practice that emphasized aesthetic and non-aesthetic breast and body surgery. Like most plastic surgeons, I was initially focused on reconstructive surgery." "As a surgeon, it is gratifying to offer post-breast cancer reconstruction and similar work. I still enjoy heartwarming satisfaction as I follow my patients through confidence-building journeys in cosmetic surgery. I watch the work I do improve the quality of life for my patients daily, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity." "A part of my fellowship in Melbourne involved microsurgery, sewing blood vessels that are 1.5-3mm in diameter using a microscope. Microsurgery training has directly translated into precision cosmetic surgery, allowing extremely subtle enhancements, minimizing tissue trauma, and speeding up recovery times for my patients." "After completing my fellowship, I entered the physiology program at McGill University. It’s a rigorous program, yet I received an award for the single highest GPA in sciences at McGill." It’s reassuring to know where your procedure will take place, and you’ll enjoy the convenience of recovery and all subsequent visits in one vast space. "Entering my eighth year of plastic surgery practice in Toronto, I’ve had over 12000 patients to date. I maintain an average of 200-300 breast surgeries per year." "Through my five years of residency in Toronto, I was fortunate enough to establish many relationships that grew valuable roots in the medical community. The field of plastic surgery is a relatively small one. I enjoy warm, mutually beneficial connections with colleagues in my field, and our patients benefit from shared knowledge, resources, and referrals." "I have held a faculty position at the University of Toronto since 2015. Since then, I’ve received a Trillium Health Partners teaching award given to a limited number of surgeons based on feedback from residents and medical students. At the prime of my career, I’m enthusiastic about teaching the skills I’ve acquired and mentoring the next generation of aspiring plastic surgeons in Toronto."
