Over the years Dr. Marchie has performed several orthopaedic surgeries for me, most recently an arthroscopic knee procedure. I am grateful for his highly regarded professional skills, but also I appreciate him as a kind, caring, compassionate, sincere and down-to-earth human being. I have no words. If you are looking for a doctor that doesn’t fake caring about you, steer clear. He truly had me fooled for the longest time. I always thought he was a nice & kind doctor, until I truly needed help. Assistant has no empathy whatsoever. They do not even make the effort to refer you to other healthcare providers when they can’t/won’t offer a solution and they ignore your calls. I am having to practically beg every year for a disability parking permit from Dr. Marchie, while my family doctor signed a 5 year permit no questions asked after coincidentally seeing me limp from my car to her office & quickly viewing my history. I am mostly appalled that Dr. Marchie has no regard for my pain after trusting him to operate on me. Acknowledging that you operated on me and me returning years later in pain doesn’t mean I am saying you screwed up, it just means my condition progressed or deteriorated over time. Don’t overthink it, just help your patient when they need your help! There is no agenda here except the expectation for a doctor to do their job and if they can’t to refer you to someone else who can. I am so disappointed in the lack of humanity, but I am done belittling myself and asking him for help. The kindness is only there when it is convenient. It is not genuine. You have abused my trust and I regret sticking with you for years when I could have gone to another doctor.

Focused on helping you recover to a satisfactory and functionable level, but not to your best. Performed the minimum treatment required. Focused on achieving a high throughput (eg. 100 patients at 80% is better than 80 patients at 100%)

Relied on traditional knowledge and was not up to date with current developments. Unwilling to answer more than 2-3 questions.

Incredible doctor, I felt like he genuinely took the time to understand my situation and very clearly explained his analysis and understanding of the situation honestly in a way that was easy to understand. I saw him at Mackenzie Health’s fracture clinic and although I was nervous about my condition, he spoke with empathy and I felt he was knowledgeable in the way he covered all the basis of my treatment / recovery plan. His team is also amazing!
