I’m not sure about others experiences with the reviews I’ve read but Dr Paula Fisherman could not have been any better! She was caring, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. There was 4 of us with my sister in law and she allowed the whole tribe to enter her office. At the end of our appointment, there wasn’t one thing left unaddressed. She was honest in a very respectful way. I’m sure it’s not easy to deliver bad news. We left with her business card and was told to call her anytime with any questions or concerns.
She was very much appreciated.

Dr..Fishman has no knowledge or understanding of what she is doing. She is rude unhelpful and because of her lack of help I have permanent damage after chemotherapy. She is also very famous for changing the treatment plan and not explaining to you why. I would not recommend her as you doctor.

I see that many people complain about her receptionist, I am not alone and it is very sadly.

I was diagnosed with Cancer in 2020 and I have never met her. I am stage 1 and chose a double mastectomy. I did not require chemo or radiation.

I wasn't happy with the telephone care. I asked her for an in person visit and she refused to see me (end of 2021). She was worried about covid. We are both vaccinated and I am working in a classroom with 30 kids and she did not want to see me in person for a 15min visit with masks. She said she was happy with my care and didn't think I needed follow up from her. She is not thorough and is taking advantage of telephone care as long as she gets to swipe my health card.

I am not happy with her care and lack of ability to support me.

She treated my mom about 10 years ago so memory of details are foggy. I do remember that her demeanor was kind, but I wished I that I had questioned the treatment regimes and treatment options available, rather than blindly trust that she knew best. I wished that we had asked for a second opinion.

I usually don't write reviews but felt compelled to in this situation. Firstly, her receptionist is awful and unfortunately this creates a barrier to accessing Dr Fishman, which compromises patient care. Unfortunately there is no other way of accessing her, as she does not provide you with an email address or her direct line to contact her regarding urgent issues (in comparison, the radiation oncologist and surgeon involved in the circle of care are both easily accessible and respond in a timely manner when contacted via email or phone). Dr Fishman seemed nice and helpful at the first visit, but her lack of compassion, complete lack of empathy, and lack of expertise became apparent as time went on. She leaves important treatment decisions (e.g. whether to continue or hold a medication) up to the patient - when she should be making such a decision based on evidence. She does not know common side effects of medications she prescribes. She takes almost 3 weeks to call re. urgent test results. Worst and most hurtful of all, she communicated via her rude and abrupt receptionist that there are no further treatment options and that palliative care is the road to take moving forward. I would expect that the she would pick up the phone and contact the patient herself to communicate this kind of devastating information. I regret being referred to Dr Fishman from the start and I would not recommend her at all.

Amazing doctor. She is so compassionate and puts my mind at ease whenever I talk to her. She is a very busy Oncologist but I always feel listened to and never feel rushed when speaking with her. She is organized and always sets up my followup tests and imaging immediately. I also feel reassured that if I needed to see her in person for an urgent matter that this is offered and available.

She only does appointments over the phone, which is always so rushed, like her coffee is getting cold.
Usually conversation goes like this: How are you? -good Ok than good I will talk to you in 6 months. You start to ask questions , than you are not comfortable patient anymore.
Looks like the most important is a health card swipe than your health!

I can not rate Dr. Fishman, She is my oncologist for the last 3 1/2 years. I only saw her twice in person. Because of the Codvi She sees patients virtually, for a cancer patient is not very reassuring. It seems to me that my oncologist now is her Secretary, She decides what I have to do.
