I found him to be very arrogant and rude. He made me wait an three hours late for my operation and didn't let me choose the color of my cast and made me get X-rays every week which cost so much $$$$ also having to miss out on classes due to the X-rays and appointments. Also had my uncle for a surgery and cut his vein.....not happy

I found Dr Cleaver to be very rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. I would not recommend for any type of back surgery.

One of the finest Surgeons and a complete gentleman I have ever met. Neil has the ability to communicate openly and with honesty and with integrity. I would recommend anyone in need of specialist consultation for spinal pain see him. Explanations are clear and concise. A great professional

Dr Cleaver performed a three level fusion on my lower back earlier this year. I had been told by other surgeons that I may not work again if this operation was necessary. I was back at work in 3 months and 9 months after the operation my discomfort is minimal and I feel better than I have in ages. This man has given me back the quality of life I was missing for years. The office staff are great, Neil takes the time to explain everything clearly, has a great manner and does not pressure you for a decision. He is always available if necessary and I cannot rate him highly enough. If you have a spine problem and need some advice, I would urge you to include this man on your list of people to see.

I have had intractable spine and shoulder pain for 8 years. Dr Cleaver is the only specialist, after paying a fortune for opinions, who explained to me why they cannot operate at this level, the risks and poor outcomes of surgery such as paralysis. He believed my pain. He ordered tests that none of the other specialists ordered and picked up shoulder pathology as well, that a myriad of shoulder specialists had not picked up in 8 years. He explains clearly the problem, does not talk down to you, treats you like you have some intelligence, and is not afraid to tell the truth about risks and complications with thoracic spinal surgery, which no other specialist has wanted to say or explained in simple terms. I wish I had him when I first had my accident, I would not be in the pain I am in now. Dr Cleaver is outstanding. I wish I had found him sooner. He is brilliant. I have been to all the so called best surgeons in Brisbane. It is well worth the journey to the Gold Coast.
