Dr bernell delivered my daughter in September of 2018. She was very hands on and knowledgeable. She made my husband and I very comfortable and made sure we had the knowledge to make the best birth plan for our little girl. I will never use another doctor!

I am so disappointed in this Dr... when I got pregnant, I looked up TONS of Dr's reviews, 99% of which had bad reviews... then I finally found this dr who had great reviews and was excited to see her...unfortunately the only thing good about this dr is her staff...I was a self pay patient, so I had to pay almost $5000 up front... now I understand why. If I had known then, what I know now...she wouldn't have received a dime. It started off great, a few weeks before going into labor I told her I wanted to go natural without having an epidural, so I didn't want to be given petosin( for induction). She assured me she would do whatever I wanted... when I went into labor, she came into my room and told me she was going to be in surgery that day, but as soon as I was ready to push, she would be there ( even if she had to leave her surgery) she went ahead an broke my water... when she did, she noticed theRe was already fecal matter in the water( he was several days late so she said that was normal),so she didn't want to leave him in too long, cause he could inhale it... she said she was going to give me petosin to speed up the process...I reminded her I didn't want that since I didn't want to have to get an epidural ( I was self pay)...so she said oh no problem, we'll see how it goes and I might give you some ' vitamin P' if I need to...15 min later I was given petosin which sped up my contractions, but I still wasn't dilating... so that was great, I laid in my bed in horrible pain for hours, until finally I couldn't take it anymore and got an epidural ( of course the first didn't work, so I had to get 2... got a $10.000 bill for those btw, and yes.. I was charged for both). At this point I would like to add that I tested positive for the vaginal strep ( if you look it up, this can be deadly to an infant if he contracts it during birth), so I was put on antibiotics to help prevent the baby from getting that. When it was finally time to push... sever hours later, I started pushing and about 30 minutes into it, my nurse got a call that she needed to go help deliver another baby first.... so for AN HOUR AND 45 MINUTES I was left, waiting...with my baby in the birthing canal with all the fecal matter( that the doc didn't want him sitting in, since it was dangerous to inhale, which was the reason she gave me, for giving me ' vitamin P'
PLUS I had the strep thing going on...)clearly she was oh so concerned with my baby's health. Finally it was time to push again... she never showed up, her associate ended up coming in for the last 5 min to deliver... whIle she was stitching me up, I asked how bad I had ripped, and she simply said' you young girls always make it seem so dramatic' and did not answer the question ( well DUUH , my vagina ripped of course I want to know how bad it is...)after that... I was never checked again. Dr Bernell came in the next morning, said hi and was out as fast as she could be.
For my 6 week follow up, I was worried, because I knew I had ripped again and pointed that out to bernells PA Sarah ( not jessica, she's great).she told me to just " keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't start oozing puss out of it" I was also concerned I might have a yeast infection in my breast, because it hurt to nurse. Her response to that was" whenever cottage cheese looking stuff starts coming out,you should contact us" needless to say, the dr that I paid 5000 upfront to,( not including hospital bills) didn't even have the decency to make sure my vagina was healed up right...I wouldnt recommend this dr to anyone, nor will I ever be going back... she's all about the MONEY.

Went in as a new patient today after a horrible pregnancy and pre term labor with a Dr. In a different practice. I was treated like a person instead a number and an inconvenience! I enjoyed my experience.

It's sometimes difficult to get a timely "yearly" appointment, that's why you need to schedule in advance. During my pregnancy the office staff was more than accommodating of my schedule and I never had problems getting an appointment. Dr. Bernell was almost always on time to the appointment unless of course she was attending a birth, but her staff always let us know upon check in the situation and offered an alternative such as seeing the PA or rescheduling. I always felt that Dr. Bernell really knew me. I know with tons of patients you can't truly remember everyone's story, but she always came into the room prepared and knowledgeable about my husband, my chart, my baby, and followed up on whatever milestone, blood test, situation, or concern we had spoken about previously. I also feel that she is honest ane not self serving. When I was miserable at 39 weeks she told me what I needed to hear: to be patient. She never pushed me to have scheduled induction or c-section, in fact she wanted to avoid both for the best outcome (a successful, safe vaginal delivery) for me and my daughter. My respect for Dr. Bernell really peaked during the delivery. First off, she came to see me right away. She was a patient advocate for me by ensuring that he nursing staff was prompt and thorough in my care. When the time came to deliver my baby she was calm, knowledgeable, and yet firm and stern when I needed her to be. When she saw my daughter she cradled her in her arms and I knew that she really loves babies as much as she says she does. I felt completely safe with my delivery in her hands and I would recommend her to anyone.

Been a patient with Dr Bernell for many years now, she delivered my first son and I am seeing her for my second pregnancy. I love her and her staff and will never change OB's. Although her staff rarely answers the phone to make appointments I love Dr Bernell in general.

Dr. Bernell was my dr. for three years. She is very competent dr. and I initially appreciated her bedside manner. When I became pregnant with my first child my opinions changed drastically. My first pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage in the ER after visiting her office on a Friday. She assured me that everything looked fine on Friday but the baby was measuring far smaller than I knew I was. She told me I messed my dates up and everything was.. 12 hours later I miscarried. The most upsetting part was when I called to schedule a followup post miscarriage, they wouldn't schedule me until I talked to her nurse and without so much as a condolence or kind word I was cold transferred to a voicemail. Second pregnancy was much better until week 31. I started having massive swelling and told Dr. Bernell something was wrong, she told me it was all in my head. Three days later my husband rushed me to the ER as I was in preterm labor with a massive infection. I felt ignored and unimportant.
