I have been seeing Dr Kahan for a long time.I was referred to him for addictions help. I see him as often as possible. He spends a lot of time with me and his patients It seems as though he must work 12hoyr days . He is a very dedicated doctor. He has been the only Doctor that I have seen for 7years. Other than the surgeons and the doctor s I see at Mount Sinai hospital.I have a Surgeon at Mount Sinai Hospital but it's very difficult to see him Lest he is very very busy.Dr Kahan also fills I. For my Surgeon and monitorrs my condition.I have a serious medical issue that requires surgery to correct.I am terrified of dying. Although surgery is very safe it's 2023 and medical care has evolved.Prior to seeing Dr Kahan I was at the emergency 5times a month and I went to walk in clinics 10times a month never getting help and or getting bandage medical care and or temporary help.I am very grateful to him .He gives me Letters and helps me fill forms He always has the to do these things.I had a problemed life and require letters and doctors forms. I'm very grateful to women's college hospital they have always been there for me .when I was homeless I used to sleep in the basement of women's college hospital in the laundry room. The hospital never kicked me out when I was homeless for some reason women's college hospital has been my Friend.

I have been seeing Dr Kahan for five years he has been very helpful towards my addiction.I have successfully managed to avoid fentanal .I never get into drug related problems or trouble I avoid troubled individuals. The program I'm in is very good for me in that for five years I have found a lot of harm reduction has come into my life. I never seen a doctor therefore never abusing my health card and I'm not at a doctor or emergency everyday I've only seen one doctor in three times in five years for my depression I was treated with Zoloft and ten five milligram clazinpans tablets. I've only took three five milligram tablets of clazinpans in five years. This is good since that I was very benzo addicted .Due yoy depression I may be slitsafreniac or have skitsafrenia because of this I may sometimes feel rejected and or that people are spreading a campaign of hate and inuenda me.Nonetheless despite all this Dr Kahan sees through this and has never judged me on what others say about me.currently I am trying to conquer a smoking addiction.I was negative for smoking related drugs at my last appointment the dip drug test was negative
I was very proud of quitting smoking I never use cocaine or fentanal. In the end the person benefitting is me. It's my health and with Dr kahans help I will conquer the smoking demons.and I thank Jesus for Dr Kahans help I want Dr Kahan to live forever .I'm also looking forwards to my next appointment

I currently owe my life to Dr. Kahan and his staff, at Women's College Hospital. I hit a wall, fast and hard, in 2017, as my alcohol abuse disorder had finally taken over my life - in every capacity. I moved from a "functioning alcoholic" to a near-death scenario. Sent home from my beloved job as a teacher, I wasn't able to return to work until I was well again. I was baffled by my relapses and every other treatment centre or doctors I turned to for help, just couldn't seem to pull me out of the hole I was in. I was feeling pretty hopeless when CAMH, ironic as it is, told me they couldn't help me because I have a serious addiction problem. So, after being abandoned or dismissed as hopeless by so many other addiction specialists and yet, still determine to find someone who could help, I finally found Dr. Meldon Kahan in the RAAM Clinic at WCH. He prescribed me the medication I've needed to abstain from alcohol so I could finally deal with the underlying issues driving me to drink. This allowed me to successfully work through difficult emotions using the helpful, positive coping skills I've learned from various treatment centres, rather than giving up and turning to the bottle for relief (this was tough work on my part but Dr. Kahan and his team knew just how to motivate me to whether the storms). His approach is one so many other professionals should model; Dr. Kahan destroys my shame by explaining the medical reasoning behind my behaviours and cravings, how my alcohol abuse has affected my brain, and what work needs to be done to help my nervous system get back on track. I was nearly hopeless before I found Dr. Kahan in the RAAM clinic at WCH. I'm feeling a little selfish in that I know the more people who learn about him, the less time I may have with him to myself but PLEASE!!! If you are suffering, seek the help of Dr. Kahan. His entire "dream team" at WCH have this teacher's five golden stars of approval. Merci Beaucoup, Dr. Kahan!!! Bravo!

Dr Kahan has been my family doctor for over 26 years, and he currently treats me for chronic pain related to a deteriorating jaw joint, that was caused by a car accident when I was 18 years old . He is extremely knowledgeable about the field of family practise, chronic pain, and addiction medicine, He has always been incredibly kind, caring, empathetic, eager to listen, supportive, and extremely compassionate to me. I appreciate all he has done for me, and I am honoured to have had him as my physician for such a long, period of time. There have been so many times when he has gone 'over and above' the call of duty to support me, and provide me with excellent medical care especially following my diagnosis of Triple Negative Breast Cancer. He has always researched, and sent me to the top doctors in their field when I required medical care outside of his scope of practice, such as surgery, physiotherapy, etc. He has never been dismissive, condescending or judgemental. Sometimes you have to wait to see Dr Kahan, but I suspect he runs late due to never rushing his patients (he takes time with his patients), and always listening to their every concern. He has completed important research in addiction medicine that will continue to help those who require help with drug and alcohol addiction in the future. He is a true leader, a consumate professional, a compassionate healer, and a valuable member of our society. Without Dr Kahan, I would not have an acceptable quality of life related to severe, constant chronic pain, and life would not be worth living for me. I will always be indebted to him for all that he has done for me. I consider him to be an incredible physician, a true friend, and my 'Angel of Mercy'.
